There's a deodexed system dump for the defy floating around somewhere, you should be able to install the APK's from that :)
Thanks fritolays, this rom is ultra fast.

However house cleanup was to intensive and I really miss Alarmclock (I like it), Calendar (linked with launcher pro calender widget), and Media Gallery (since it's linked with BlurCamera app)

Is there any way to get it back.

I extracted it from system.img found in Stock.CEE3.4.2_155-002_DEBLUR.zip, and was not able to install it since it's odexed. I also tried to push it to /system/app with odex file, but I've was not successful.

Any other recommendations?
Here you can download and update.zip with the deoxed files of the 3.4.2-155-2 Deblur:

(I have not tested it)

Thanks I've tried that earlier, however i get:

2020 KB/s (1899405 bytes in 0.918s)
pkg: /data/local/tmp/BlurAlarmClock.apk
Failure [INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_NO_CERTIFICATES]
Press any key to continue . . .

Pushing to /system/app and reboot doesn't work either.

First off blur Calendar is not coming back; and I wont make an update to get it. Reason being, it use's 3 apk's to do the work of one when using open source android apps.

I sort of miss the Blur Alarm Clock too, so here is what I'm going to do: I will release a new update.zip with has the Blur Media Gallery, Blur Alarm Clock, and the new Desk Clock for choice.

Also just a sidenote - there will be a small update to v1.3; but you wont have to flash a whole new rom I will upload an update from v1.2 to 1.3.
Just to fix a couple subtle issues that have crept up; like having to reboot once to get it working.

I'm trying to install your Custom Barebone ROM and keep downgradeability... but I can't even get Clockwork MOD Recovery to install the Stock.CEE3.4.2_155-002_DEBLUR.zip nandroid backup.

What step have I missed?
1) root (I'm running UK 2.51.1)
2) install recovery (without USB debug)
3) boot recovery install Stock.CEE3.4.2_155-002_DEBLUR.zip says it is installing it
4) then wait...
5) still waiting...
6) shower time!
7) back from shower still waiting.. for how long should I wait?

You forgot to flash the fixed sbf after restoring the Nandroid (Fixed sbf - http://www.multiupload.com/CT5ZAPXOK0)
Your phone atm is trying to boot Froyo with an Eclair bootloader.

So step 4 should be: - restore nandroid -> reboot into bootloader (volume+up) flash fixed sbf.

Thanks for your reply and this great rom.

I respect your wish to keep this rom clean.

I was just asking for help on procedure how to get anything I miss back.

Sorry if I was misunderstood.

Keep the good work. This rom is fastest beast out.

Thank you.

fritolays thanks for this great work.

Barebones is a pretty fast rom and your ultra detailed explanation is one of the best "howto" i´ve ever seen, thank you very much. As i see, your level of knowledge on developing is more than advanced, may i ask you to have a look on another project called FroyoSense for Defy, started by Dexter but we got no more support on it. It is the fastest rom for Defy, going over 2000 points on Quadrant at 1Ghz. And Sense from HTC is a lovely interface. Thank you in advance, cheers.

EDIT: The SWYPE apk you just put in the update.zip is giving me force close when running it on Finland Deblur.

Yes I know step 4 is flash sbf. I was a bit unclear, and I'm still waiting for restore nandroid to complete.

The nandroid restore never completes just standing there saying it is installing update... and nothing happens.
I left the phone alone for ~30min even though I have been reading it suppose to take ~2min. I have tried 5 times same result, I have to remove battery to restart the phone. I have done a factory reset twice.
I have tried the recovery linked to in the first post (altough only the "old" version exists in the post for that recovery) and I have tried the Clockwork recovery posted by tenfar.

The current swype posted will only work with 3.4.2-155-002 CEE Deblur.

The old version is what everybody has cause whats his name disappeared again. As for clockwork not restoring nandroids - honestly I have no clue. If it was me I'd start by flashing the 2.21.0 UK TMobile Blur Stock sbf. Then root Eclair with z4root; install recovery; then try to restore a Froyo nandroid; flahing a fixed Froyo sbf during reboot. Obviously, it will be hard to flash any rom if it doesnt work. Goodluck man !

A fix is coming in a few days with v1.3.
By the way, QuickPic probably is set as default image viewer (try setting a new wallpaper).
Issue is with Camera app calling for media gallery specifically.
For now get in the habit of opening QuickPic first - then hit Camera button. Use back button to see images . . .

Any easy way to apply the dark gingerbread status bar?
Ya v1.3 will start themes out. Beginning with a darkbar.

I can't go back to 2.21.0 because they flashed my phone with 2.51.1 UK when it was in for ear-piece speaker repair :( I have rooted 2.51.1 and removed a few blur widgets (news and weather) because they appear in running services unless I remove them.
I will try to flash 2.51.1 sbf and reroot then install recovery and try again.

EDIT: No just flashed 2.51.1 UK rerooted with superoneclick root thing, then installed recovery by tenfar (v2.5.1.2 it says) but it is still the same.

-- Installing: SDCARD:nandroid/Stock.CEE3.4.2_155-002_DEBLUR.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...

and then nothing more happes, the phone will just freeze there and the only thing I can do is remove battery. When booting after that regardless of how long I wait my phone will boot perfectly fine into old 2.51.1 ROM as if I havn't done anything.

First impressions:

WOW

never had such a speed on my defy before

Zeam is the right choice then, i tried all the other launchers but this is definitely the lighter one.

This rom is the perfect base for all the people who want customize the phone in the manner they want.

Thank you
