What's working:

  • RIL (phone/SMS/3G)
  • Video (playback & recording)
  • Audio (playback & recording)
  • Wi-fi
  • Bluetooth
  • Camera (Front and rear)
  • 2D/3D HW Acceleration
  • USB, MTP, ADB
  • all native tethers (Wifi/BT/USB)
  • external storage

Known issues
  • Camera FC until ~5 min since the boot
  • Video playback is mostly unusable in stock browser (Webview incompatibility with our OpenGL blobs)
  • Wifi autoconnection

Installation

Everything below assumes that you already have at least TWRP 2.8.6.0 or 3.x.y version. Installation was only tested in TWRP 2.8.6.0 so far.

  • Copy ROM zip to the external memory card
  • Reboot to recovery
  • Wipe Data / Factory Reset" - "Wipe cache" - "Wipe Dalvik"
  • Choose "Install Zip from external storage"
  • Flash ROM
  • Reboot. Please note that first boot might take awhile.
  • Enjoy!

Changelogs

Changelog:

29.12.2016
  • initial release
  • included the most of the latest CM14.1 customizations by SergeyL, some clean ups
  • switched to GCC compiler for the most of ROM build (GCC seems to be a more advantageous compared to Clang, at least for now)

4.01.2017
  • simplified installation - no need to flash a separate kernel zip
  • updated to TWRP 3.0.3 (thanks @SergeyL)
  • fixed menu key not working
  • added new Power HAL (in battery settings you can choose power profile) - thanks @Meticulus for the original source
  • reduced vmalloc to 128Mb (perphaps should be better for multitasking)
  • added option to disable media scan at boot

9.01.2017
  • removed libc timekeeping hacks, added a fix to the RIL instead (thanks to @MWisBest for the sources)
  • fixed rear camera issue
  • fixed bluetooth
  • fixed in-kernel F2FS support
  • fixed in-kernel TTL changing support
  • fixed busybox symlinks
  • added UMS (USB Mass Storage) support
  • Selinux: disabled (fixed a few more pitfalls that was earlier causing a bootloop)
  • Added fake Selinux implementation (see post below for details)
  • reverted to TWRP 3.0.2 from CM13 by SergeyL - the one from CM14.1 appears to be too huge for now
  • adjusted PowerHAL CPU boost durations

Miscellaneous

Fake SELinux

Fake SELinux is a feature that allows to workaround some apps that require SELinux to be set in permissive or enforced mode. To enable, add
Code:
selinux.enabled=1
property to /system/build.prop. You can change SELinux mode to enforcing by setting the propery
Code:
selinux.enforced=1
I haven't tested so far if those apps are really satisfied with that, but in Settings you can see that Selinux mode changes with setting of these properties.

Storage swap
To swap storages, install this kernel:

Maybe mediascanner issue ?
Nope, it's well known to be related to the timekeeping changes in Android, but so far neither of fixes I've seen or tried to introduce, helped.
UPD. For those who needs wifi autoconnection functionality, there is uploaded a test kernel:
http://www.xda.mister-freeze.eu/XDA-files/ChronoMonochrome/misc/chrono_kernel_r5.0-exp.zip
But beware that it's still experimental and it isn't compliant with ROM time in suspend measurement (it won't show time spent in suspend but actually device will sleep though).

Any compatible GAPPS pack?
Opengapps, e.g.?
Try checking CM14.1 thread - but AFAIK, even the smallest Gapps can be installed only with the repartition. SergeyL have added MicroG support (it needs signature spoofing enabled in the development settings) but I haven't tested these yet.
P.s. on this build menu key is not working (broken feature of disabling device keys) so please wait for the next build.
Btw, happy new year!

New build is up!

Changelog

4.01.2017
  • simplified installation - no need to flash a separate kernel zip
  • updated to TWRP 3.0.3 (thanks @SergeyL)
  • fixed menu key not working
  • added new Power HAL (in battery settings you can choose power profile *) - thanks to Meticulus for the original source

  • added option to disable media scan at boot

Hey guys, a previous build seem to cause problems with the installation - now this issue should be gone with the ROM installer update.
* about Power HAL - you can adjust some tunables in newly added 999powerhal init.d script, for example, you can change min/max CPU freq here:
Code:
....
$SP powerhal.2.cpu0_freq_min 200000
$SP powerhal.2.cpu0_freq_min 800000
Enjoy!
