Release Name: Android 2.0 AOSP Master Final Beta Version
Release Version: Android 2.0 AOSP Master Final Beta Version
Release Date: 12/02/09 9:31 AM
MD5 Sum: 6fd37dc9a25292350aec6c9a8493139e
Credits: AOSP, enomther for the kernel and general knowledge for start-up scripts, cyanogen for the huge APN list, the nice lady neighbour who'd let me see her shower when I was five, and the Mod team for ramming this template on me and having me edit a nearly-dead post.*
Base Firmware: AOSP Master branch (as of Novermber 2009)
Radio Required: Any
SPL Required: Any
Partition Layout: linux-swap in mmcblk0p3 optional, no a2sd
Wipe Required: not among versions in this thread, yes if coming from a rom not in this thread
Special instructions:
You can still get your Google contacts synced doing the following:

I have gotten google sync working in this rom and all other 2.0 roms through exchange. It syncs mail, contacts, and calendar without the need for google apps. To get this working make a new exchange account and put in your gmail email address and password and then select manual setup. Select exchange account. For Domain/Username put in "/[email protected]" without quotes. The password should be filled in from the previous field. The Exchange server is "m.google.com" without quotes. Check both boxes below and hit next. Select the checking frequency(or push) and amount to synchronize. Select which options you want below, then select next. Put in an account name and display name, then hit done. If you have corporate calendar installed, then your calendar will synchronize and so will your contacts and email. Now you have push gmail, contacts, and calendar. Because exchange will only synchronize a month of emails, I also setup my gmail as an IMAP account so I still have access to my old emails. The android email app is not as good as the gmail app IMHO, but it is a temporary solution, and new emails seem to show up faster this way!

Change Log (from v3):
App Changes
-Added Google Apps (Gmail, Market, Talk) (sync will still eat your battery, turn it off from the power control widget and turn it back on only when you need it)
-Upgraded Maps to version 3.2.1 with Turn by Turn navigation (US only)
-Added Terminal Emulator
-Removed Provision and added Google Setup Wizard
System Fixes
-Removed /xbin folder for size (we still fit under regular SPL!, besides, who uses those binaries?)
-Added rosystem/rwsystem so you can easily change the system partition from read-only to read/write and back
-Rolled back kernel to 2.6.27 (enomther's, donate to the guy)
-Added linux swap support if a third partition is available
-If a third partition is not available, 24 MB compcache is enabled by default instead
-Fixed sensors (rotation)
-Added huge APNs list
Graphical Fixes
-Fixed Car Dock Images, now text is visible in either Landscape or Portrait mode
-Added Gmail Icon from eugene's build
-Power Control Widget graphical fix already applied
-Removed "Accounts" button from Contacts to avoid the force-close it causes when pressed since Google Apps sync is not available anyway.

Thanks, jubeh!
If anyone of you will flash it, could you please spare a minute and try if Bluetooth works (if it just turns on)? I need 2.0 with BT for development.

Just loops to boot screen.
Did you wipe? It's required. Any partitioning on your sd shouldn't matter because. I don't even use a2sd (don't even like it)

I should mention, I'm replying from the rom uploaded, so I know it works (I downloaded from 4shared straight to my phone and flashed to test), md5sum it to make sure it's a good dl

I read his tweet, but thought it was a sapphire problem, I'll make an update if people report it's not working

I'm not sure. I haven't messed around with 2.0 yet personally, just wait and see depending on the reports. Can't wait till HTC releases the new qualcomm drivers.

Thanks for putting this out for everyone by the way.

Gonna try to use bluetooth and test with my wife's phone, if it doesn't work, I'll try the texasthing fix. I'm making an update package with su, superuser.apk, wifitether, and slide-me (market alternative). BRB, gonna test.

Looks very good so far. Only need market app. What is the easiest way to get it on this install after booting up? And from wich rom?

Wi-Fi works fine for me.

Hm

Is this for sure build of 2.0 or a really good rebuild of 1.6?

root doesn't work

I installed some apps through DroidExplorer to my G1 (open overclock) and it says you must have a rooted phone.

Great build, root enable it please!! haha

Great great job though none the less.

I'll keep this rom for a while and wait to see if any new updates show up.

This feels like its from the sdk, since there wasn't a google log in, I have NO CONTACTS AHH!!!!!

haha

Ok, bluetooth was broken, and now it's fixed (thanks cyanogen, jbq, persiansown), added Wifi tether, added su and superuser.apk, added slide-me. I can always make a further update to add more things, have A LOT of space left in /system. Update is in first post.
