well, but I'm confused. that recovery and vbmeta... do I flash them seperately (with auto reboot ticked off) or do I make 1 tar file from them?

and I also don't understand "wipe your data if you're encrypted". I don't mind wiping data. or will it fail if I do wipe it while I'm not encrypted? Am I encrypted? sorry for the noob questions but I have flashed the stock ROM for 10 times before I got the root and TWRP to work now it's rooted and I have booted in TWRP but I can't seem to boot in it anymore. If I'm correct I have to flash the TWRP tar (and VBMETA in CL?) each time I want to go in recovery?

i have been flashing firmwares and custom recoveries & roms for 10 year or longer, every time when i find a rom i like i stick to it until i get another phone and then.. -> what you said happens to me also i need to read everything 3x and still i forget things or don't get what i have to do or simply do things wrong lol -> Good thing samsung phones can take a lot.

Tons of issues..
Alpha apk (the Updated one) Was installable but after reboot its gone again.
Aswell everyone seems to be complaining that they cant understand me. I have also interruptions in calls, the day after i flashed

Please use the newest one in the 1st post. This has already been reported and with the new version attached it works for me. had similar problem. With me it disappeared only immediately.

I have not yet been able to determine this myself and have already called 2 times in both cases I was called.

Hey, could I receive advice as to how we are supposed to flash VBMETA + T.W.R.P. using the USERDATA section in Odin? I had created a .tar file including both of the above, and yet every time I flash the file, the outcome is Odin either freezes or the progress bar stays in a frozen position after moving by but a few millimeters, I had initially installed a patched Magisk AP File, then proceeded to flash T.W.R.P. by itself using Odin. Although T.W.R.P. had successfully installed the Magisk Patch is not Official Samsung Software, causing the flashing of the installation via T.W.R.P. to inform me that I must download the latest Stock Firmware in order to ensure a successful installation. Any Suggestions that might Solve this issue?

Did you rename the files into recovery.img and vbmeta.img, before you joined them in the tar-file?

i was having same problems when adding this combined file (twrp + patched vbmeta) to the 'Userdata' in odin. The phone would get stuck and rebooting it would bring me back to the download page. when that happened i could restart odin, reconnect the phone with the USB and flashed the TWRP in AP and the VBmeta in CP and rebooted straight into TWRP

I got this s20 now for a couple of weeks, bought it second hand from the internet but when coming from the s10e this sure feels and works like a new phone in 2023 But this phone started in Russian after a factory reset always and after setup i also get some russian words and Yandex search and other Russian search engines keep showing up as an option in my search bar.
So i first flashed official firmware from my country in Odin (not with Home CSC) but that didn't change anything and now i am running a custom rom since last week but still the info shows SER and when i put the phone in download mode i also noticed it still shows SER.
Does that mean the phone is locked to this region or can it be changed ?

Hello, can we use 120hz, 8k video recording, 30x zoom, 64mp camera with Telephoto lens in BeyondROM? How about gaming performance and warming up? I am an S20 Exynos user. How is the ram usage and battery usage compared to the original stock rom? I'm looking for a good rom for the S20, with less heat problems and low ram and battery usage. BeyondROM users, can you help?

I guess nobody tested this. Theoretically, the device should boot but you won't be able anymore to use twrp until you wipe your data and prevent the re-encryption at boot.

About two years ago I tested getting BeyondROM to work with encrypted /data, as I think it's pretty careless to keep /data unencrypted (you lose your phone and anyone with technical knowledge can read your data). I never got it to work, and I completely agree that the lack of support of encrypted internal storage should be mentioned in post 1.

Update: It's not possible. BeyondROM-Installer is checking the "compatibility". If GWA7-ROM isn't installed you can't proceed. After three attempts I was able to download the required firmware via "samfw.com".

I can't find the official "GWA7" FW I need while using Frija or SamFirm tool. Also when I choose "Manual" and entering G980FXXSFGWA7/G980FOXMFGVL5/G980FXXUFGVL5 I'm evertime ending at the latest available firmware "HWAK" . Can I use this latest firmware instead?

Update: I think I found the correct way to boot into TWRP after flashing this ROM. Maybe this step was unnecessary but while searching this forum I found a post from "serajr" (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...es-and-upgrade-firmware.4079353/post-86456749) and installed his disabler-ZIP after I flashed the ROM with TWRP.

1. Shut down your phone
2. Press and hold Vol.-Up & Vol.-Down button
3. Connect your USB-C cable to your phone (it is connected to my laptop)
4. Release both buttons after entering the download-mode
5. Attention: Press Vol.-Down button to reboot your phone and directly Press and hold Vol.-Up & Power button until you entered TWRP

Is it normal that i can't boot into TWRP after installing this rom? How exactly would the procedure for the S20 to boot into recovery? Maybe I forgot something to install after installing the ROM? It's the first custom Rom I'm using on this S20. TWRP I downloaded from the official website.
