What makes it so difficult?

This is a layout of russian keyboard...

Somewhere there is three symbols for one button...
To change language from standart to russian language you have to press the 3rd key (ЯЗЫК) from left in last row (WinMo).
So it means we will need two keymaping joined together for russian keybord...
Joining two keymaping together i dont think it will work...
( maybe ability to switch over, between standard and russian <--- not sure if its possible. )

For now i can do it this way ( for example Q ):
Q=q
shift+Q=Q
fn+Q=E(russian leter)
fn+shift+Q=N(rusian leter)
but the problem is... Unable to make capital E or N (russian leters)

Heh, you basically explained what I assumed. I knew that the ЯЗЫК key swapped languages, but I wasn't sure if it was possible. I will however, say it is. There is a Motorola Milestone being prepared for the Russian market, and it has the same key. So if you or someone can get a hold of a rom for that, I am sure you could figure out how it is done.

SpideyNGO's stipulations and offer

Completed Port for AT&T HTC Tilt2

A. Everything working including ext speaker, int speaker, speakerphone, mic, bluetooth handsfree, extUSB handsfree, Camera(s), GPS, 3D drivers, and any other hardware I may have missed.
A = offer $75

B. ROM (not loading Haret from SD to RAM) fully ported Android with HTC 2.1 Sense Espresso and all widgets AND A above.
A + B = offer $150

This offer is not separate payments. Bounty is either A in RAM using Haret OR A+B in ROM. Whichever happens first gets my money. You never know. :)

[EDIT 07/15/2010- Offer B void, I only care about A (left content for context)]

What the hell does "Haret in RAM" mean ?

Shouldn't it be Donate to get it done

I believe that if we donate now, it sends a message of appreciation and understanding that we want the dev's to continue their hard work at getting this fully working on our devices.

If we say that we will donate "x" amount when the job is done, That sometimes comes across as though you wouldn't want the development to happen and wish it was just done and up for sale.

If you want to buy android, working fully, you might just need to buy a device it was built on. Otherwise, I think we should donate to the cause in small increments. $5 for gps, $2 for power, etc.. This would give me more incentive as a dev to continue work.

Just my 2 cents.

Sorry about that, I'll spell that out.

What the hell does "Haret in RAM" mean ?

Sorry, about my poor explanation PHHusson. Thanks for all your work so far on Android. You definitely have a gift.

I'm not sure how to explain it, so forgive my "non-programming" terms as I am not a programmer.
I meant to request, or ask if it is even possible, to build a fully functional ROM that you flash like those created for a G1 or a Hero. Is it possible to build a ROM that does not boot to Windows and then load haret? Is it possible to load Android "native" so to speak from the ROM like a G1 or Nexus does? I'm asking. I don't assume to know this.

I also ask for "grace" from the Android developers as I try to communicate this. I'm not as gifted with programing as you all are, but I want to encourage and support your further work on this. I really appreciate what you've done and wanted to put money behind this.

I also believe there is nicer way to ask me to clarify than wording it "what the hell does 'Haret in RAM' mean?"
I am not trying to pick a fight on a forum. I support you 100% and am totally impressed with what you have accomplished. I find it odd that I want to support this effort and I get a response like this?!

Even if the intention is good, I don't think it's needed. For me, it wouldn't change anything, while I'm the one who cares the most about money amongst the devs. (student vs workers ...)

It's just that it seems to me that many people aren't understanding correctly what is currently done. The only difference between a ".nbh" version and the current stuff, is that internal NAND is being used instead of MMC (and internal NAND have worst performances than MMC!!!) for storage, and in one case we rely on wimo's init, in the other case we do our own... There is absolutely no other difference. It won't be smoother, it won't be more feature-full (it's even most likely the opposite). The only thing is that it might save some power (but don't worry, MMC is already off when sleeping so really not much savings.)

If you use NAND, or ROM, does it free up more of RAM after booting the operating system of the phone? Meaning, does the WinMo operating system in the 512mb of NAND have more memory to work with than a boot of Android from MMC? Do both WinMo and Android utilize RAM the same way? If Android did load from NAND/ROM instead, would it make any difference regarding the extra ROM MB available?

Correct me if I mis-understood, PHHusson, but it sounds like the answer is that it will make no difference. I just want to make sure that I completely understand because I find it interesting.

The bounty needs to be updated.

It needs to account for the payments that people have made. I am ready to start making more donations for sound!! Are they going to be tracked??

Which developer do I submit it to? I'm looking to donate to one working on Rhodium sound.

+1 for what he said

I didn't think of that. I will pay $25 for fully functioning sound: ext speaker, internal speaker, extUSB adapter, headset, speakerphone, etc.

ATM, two people have been working hard on sound for rhod/topa, I've already done the "hardware" part (ie initializing speaker), but the problem is totally unknown.
Whenever it works, I'm not sure who will deserve donations. (but I think jonpry is quite high in the list.)

RAM avability won't change at all. When I said it works the exact same way, it really is. Using MMC only, you only lose those 450MB available on the NAND/ROM, which can do nothing but slow storage.

i would definately donate if we had something mostly working and reliable.

What?

It is "Mostly working and reliable". I know people who don't even use WM on their TP2 AT ALL.

If you guys want to donate, then donate. Don't act like these devs don't work on these things daily. You don't need to dangle a carrot in front of them like some stupid animal. You think Phh doesn't want sound working until he gets enough money?? NO, he wants sound working just like we do! You guys should show appreciation for the fact that its already 85% ported, and not try to blackmail the devs. They use their free, unpaid time to give you guys something you would have NEVER had otherwise. You know they could just do this for themselves, and not share it with anyone, right?

Be a little more grateful for what you do have, and not so greedy for what you don't.

it is not very reliable, meaning i cant rely on it to always work. sometimes it will lock up while screen is off, sometimes sms will randomly stop working, sometimes data stops working. while its fun to play with and runs smooth, i cant rely on it, especially after an hour or two of uptime. not to mention i have no idea how dead my battery is. while i appreciate all thats been done in developing this port, i dont think i would call it reliable.

Exactly. These people are working on the port every single day, but the closer they get to total compatibility, the harder it gets. But believe me when I say that real progress is being made in multiple areas.

To all those who are working on the port, thanks a lot and keep on doing. I am just a button pusher, but, I appreciate your work and effort a lot.

All the WM6.x or WM6.x.x started by not being "not releable", but see where we are today with the hard work of our cooks/devs.

We can only be grateful, encourage them and look forward to "perfected" android versions for our rhodiums.

In any case, there is no perfect rom be it ported or original shipped version; they all tend to hangup, freeze or do some such thing we don't like or didn't anticipate, including device lock requiring a hard reset.

Believe me, I have been through them all.

Well done our cooks/devs and thank you.

I've got FRX07_Full_Bundle_20110715 on touch pro 2. I had the audio not working on both in/outgoing calls, then I've got the audio for outgoing calls working fine but not the incoming calls, unless I turn on the speaker, that's after I've set vibration to 'always' and disabled dial pad tone, now what .. any comment?

I would personally post in the thread where you got the build, i.e. FRX07 thread as you're going to get a quicker response there, rather than in a thread about donations 2+ years old. And if you already did post in the FRX07 thread, then be patient for a response.
