Yep that is true, but i don't think that this is the method of testing VoWiFi because to make a call phone shouldn't be on airplane mode.
@Iitachiuchiha

No, i don't think so, :cowboy:

Before all CFW ROMs rolly out, I always used the official MIUI ROM(A9-MIUI10)

! this is possible in the official MIUI ROM, and also the telecommunications company recommended to test VOWIFI service.

I know that many countries’ telecommunication services do not support VOWIFI and cannot test it.

if VOWIFI is available, means that VOLTE has been enabled.
Maybe your friends who are using MIUI Gobal ROM could test the way I said:highfive:

This morning I tried to run the update and now I'm stuck in a bootloop. I can't get into recovery. Help!!

I'm pretty sure this is a boot loop brick now. Can't get pre loader menu recovery or fastboot to load,

To be clear this was the OTA update that I received this morning. Phone is now stuck in a loop. Cannot access recovery or fastboot. Right now i'm just letting it run until the battery drains as I hope this will do something. Any ideas?

@Iitachiuchiha any ideas please?

After trying some additional buttons I see that it's loading my recovery (OrangeFox) for just a few swconds before it simply reboots again! I don't have enough time to enter my unlock into recovery before it reboots...

I guess if I could interrupt the boot process somehow....

Yes I have been flashing custom firmware since the beginning. I used to mod Motorola flip phones and use rom cookers here at XDA Devs back when I had my pocket PC 2003 phone edition. I've had custom firmware on all of my android phones since my first.

What's your point? I've never had the problem I'm describing today. Can you help me with your experience? I think this phone is bricked since I can't even get to the preloader menu anymore.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

@Iitachiuchiha

In order to show that what I said is true,
I personally reply to flash back to the MIUI(V11.0.2.0.PGGMIXM) , and fllow the pictures.
The Vowifi test method is to turn on the "Airplane mode" + wifi" together, and then make a call to test whether there is really Vowifi.
and i flash 08/05 ROM to test [night (reading) mode+ Dark mode] ,the screen really flickers sometimes. :crying:

Bro, I've never tried this method and i also don't think we can do it on custom roms as far as i've seen but wifi calling is working normally without airplane mode. And about that screen flickering in night mode, I tested it many times it didn't happened, wait for next build i'll see what i can do.
