Hopefully I just did something wrong, but...
This appears to be the closest ROM to perfect that I've found, and it's 4.3 to boot!
I have one problem which makes it unuseable, however...

For some reason, when headphones are plugged in, the battery life drops from ~8hrs to just under 1hr.
Unlike other ROMs I've used, the phone doesn't heat up at all - the battery drains even faster though, in spite of that.

Everything else works flawlessly, but since I use my phone as my main music device, this is kind of a deal-breaker...

When I installed it, I:
- Used ClockWorkMod
- Wiped Data/Factory Restore
- Wiped Cache Partition
- Wiped Dalvik Cache
- Flashed current ROM build (cm-10.2-20130917-Albinoman887-glacier.zip)
- Flashed GAPPS

If anyone has any way to fix that it would be great, thanks!

Does this ROM normally have the headphone overheat bug/similar? I'm planning on Wiping -> ReInstalling it again when I get home to see if that helps, so I'll let you know how that goes.

----- EDIT -----
By the way, just in case it's relevant (though I doubt it is) I'm using ClockworkMod 5.0.2.0

Yes pretty much every jellybeans rom has the headset heatup bug.

Lol I tell that to at least one person and day.

There is a fix by the way, but it makes the rom less stable.

Yeah, I was hoping that it might be different than the past ROMs since the phone didn't actually heat up and only drained the battery, but I guess not.
Thanks for the help, and great ROM!

What is the fix? I installed a few 4.3 roms on my friends phone and aside from the signal dropping issue, it was by far the biggest problem. And also, how much does it affect stability? I had to move her back to sense mostly because of the battery drain while listening to music.

To sum it up, all the 4.3 roms will have 1. Signal drop 2. Headset heat up 3. Screen flicker. All the 4.2 4.1 4.0 roms if using 3.0.68 and up kernel will have issue 2 and 3. If using 3.0 and up kernel will have issue 3. If you use 2.6 kernel, then you won't get any problem but you may have some camera issues. These problems are not likely to be fixed. Either bear with them or downgrade to 4.0 or buy a new phone.

In the general section find my thread. In the 3rd post flash the modded kernel. It will be a little I stable though with random reboots.

Just to note: I didn't have screen flicker on two different myTouch 4Gs when I was using Albinoman's 4.2.2 ROM. The signal drop issue might be software-related but I believe that the flicker must have some sort of hardware involvement.

I can't test the signal drop issue any more since I have a new phone, but I was able to get rid of it on my old phones...so I would be interested in seeing if someone could test the following:

1) Call the phone, do not answer and watch the signal.
2) If the signal drops for more than a minute after the call ends, flip airplane on and off to get it back.
3) Plug the phone into the computer and make sure USB debugging is active.
4) Call the phone, do not answer and watch the signal.
5) If the signal drops for more than a minute after the call ends, flip airplane on and off to get it back.
6) Call the phone, do not answer and watch the signal.
7) If the signal still drops after the call ends, reboot the phone, leaving it plugged into USB.
8) Call the phone, do not answer and watch the signal.

I don't have a clear end case for this test, but I found that within a few attempts of calling the phone and not picking it up while it was plugged in, the signal would come back within a couple of seconds after dropping. After that it would not drop for any appreciable time at all. This behavior would persist even if the phone was then unplugged from the computer.

Looking at the logcats for this (on a fresh load) I found some old errors relating to connection status and a really bad SIGSEGV, but I don't have those logs any more and it wasn't exactly a clean log. It seemed to me that the issue was some sort of state initialization problem that can be bulled through, though. Maybe one of you could try this if you're still experiencing the problem.

I also remember someone saying that if you let it go to voicemail the signal cones back

Sent from my myTouch 4g using xda app-developers app
Voicemail doesn't have any obvious effect--that as one of the things I tried to test first, and it definitely dropped when going to voicemail.

EDIT: To make that clear, I tried hanging it up during the announcement and after leaving a test message, multiple times. Going to voicemail did not make the signal return.

Since jb.. Don't remember having flicker on ics.

Anyway, I got used to flicker, sometimes it helps me find the phone when it's dark, lol.

dont recomend old kernels. first of all the version number is a really bad indocator of what version it is. thats just the linux version. it means nothing to us. i could have it be on 3.0.40 and still have all the updates. the linux updates ar minimal since we arent on a x86 chip. using an older kernel is just stupid, no offense.

Suddenly phone goes reboot when I open gallery.

Clean install.

Try the following-

Manage applications- gallery- clear data.

Then usually gallery will work fine, until some problem with camera again causes fc.

I think external app may work better. For example cameras or camerajb+ both are good replacement to cm camera and gallery app.

I really didn't want to do this but people keep asking so here is a donation link if you want to buy me a coffee or pack of smokes (I go through a lot sitting on the PC messing around lol) go ahead. But not required or expected by any means :)

Note: The name on the paypal account may say patricia, this is because it's a family paypal account. :)

Thanks and happy flashing!

Thank YOU! I love my Mytouch 4G - it feels quick with the the build you made and I ordered ANKER batteries from amazon just so I could use the phone again! (2 + charger for 20.00) <- not an advertisement

A couple of things I'd like to address:
1) The gapps out there need to be checked for the MD5 prior to trying to load them or you could get errors and need to reload/wipe and re-download or download gapps from another source
2) I am getting lazy and dang nabbit I can't find the instructions for getting into recovery by pushing buttons on the phone - could someone please assist me?

Thank you,
