CyanogenMod 10.1 modded for Galaxy Ace

This project is made with erikcas permissions, big thanks to him.

CyanogenMod 10.1 is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.2.2 (JB), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Ace releases aren’t working on S5830C, S5830i and S5830M version of Ace!

This modded CM10.1 (all 3 Variants)

  • contains additional google libs, permissions and framework files.
  • Some apps removed like music.apk, CM Filemanager (needed the space on system and there are some better apps on market)
  • Removed Trebuchet Launcher and added Apex Launcher
  • removed old play store and added newest play store (so no space in /data/app gets wasted with market auto update after flashing)
  • added email and exchange

SuperSU version contains SuperSU instead of the new CM-Superuser App.

SuperSU version with Facebook Sync support also contains the ability to sync contacts with facebook app (when installed)

So choose which version/variant you want, its up to you.


Installation:

  • Boot into CWM Recovery
  • Wipe data/factory reset
  • Format /System
  • Install zip from SD card / choose ROM zip from SD card
  • optional step flash transparency patch with transparency lvl you wanna have
  • Install zip from SD card / choose HOTFIX zip from SD card (this step is only needed if there is a hotfix)
  • After installation reboot system now
  • 1st Boot take about 3 - 5 minutes (caches are generated in this time)
!!!SuperSU variants users now need to go to SuperSU app and deactivate SuperSU and need to go again to SuperSU app and activate SuperSU!!! otherwise SuperSU wont work and you wont have root!



Dont flash any gapps packages!
Install needed google apps from PlayStore!

OTA-Infos
Stable releases will update to new Stable releases only
Nightly releases will update to new Nightly releases only (nightly users are now switched to Stable OTA channel - nightly OTA channel will be closed at end of december for cm10.1)
The OTA app downloads the zip file to /sdcard/OTA-Updater/download/romid_device_version.zip

  • How to enable Developer Settings? Go to Systemsettings --> about phone --> tap 7 times on Build Number
  • How to enable extended Power Menu? Go to Systemsettings --> Developer options --> Advanced reboot
  • How to enable Screenshot function? Go to Systemsettings --> System --> Power menu --> Tick Screenshot
  • How to enable Quick Toggle Buttons? Go to Systemsettings --> System --> Notfication drawer --> Tick Power widgets

Yeah, i meant quick toggles. Sorry i could not use right word previously..
Yesterday I flashed this rom...
My views:
-It hangs sometimes.
-Quick toggles do not work work for me at least.
-battery stands well when sleep mode.
-with screen On, battery drains significantly.. It makes no difference whether devise is used or not...
-dialer takes time to make calls and to receive.

Back to touchwiz v 1 by SkyWalker.

The only bug I found until now is when editing a photo in gallery, where I get this:

The other editing options like frame, crop, etc. work just fine though.

Apart from that, everything is working pretty well.

    CyanogenMod 10.1 modded for Galaxy Ace

    This project is made with erikcas permissions, big thanks to him.

    CyanogenMod 10.1 is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.2.2 (JB), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

    CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

    Ace releases aren’t working on S5830C, S5830i and S5830M version of Ace!

    This modded CM10.1 (all 3 Variants)

    • contains additional google libs, permissions and framework files.
    • Some apps removed like music.apk, CM Filemanager (needed the space on system and there are some better apps on market)
    • Removed Trebuchet Launcher and added Apex Launcher

    SuperSU version contains SuperSU instead of the new CM-Superuser App.

    SuperSU version with Facebook Sync support also contains the ability to sync contacts with facebook app (when installed)

    So choose which version/variant you want, its up to you.


    Installation:

    • Boot into CWM Recovery
    • Wipe data/factory reset
    • Format /System
    • Install zip from SD card / choose ROM zip from SD card
    • optional step flash transparency patch with transparency lvl you wanna have
    • Install zip from SD card / choose HOTFIX zip from SD card (this step is only needed if there is a hotfix)
    • After installation reboot system now
    • 1st Boot take about 3 - 5 minutes (caches are generated in this time)
    !!!SuperSU variants users now need to go to SuperSU app and deactivate SuperSU and need to go again to SuperSU app and activate SuperSU!!! otherwise SuperSU wont work and you wont have root!



    Dont flash any gapps packages!
    Install needed google apps from PlayStore!

    OTA-Infos
    Stable releases will update to new Stable releases only
    Nightly releases will update to new Nightly releases only (nightly users are now switched to Stable OTA channel - nightly OTA channel will be closed at end of december for cm10.1)
    The OTA app downloads the zip file to /sdcard/OTA-Updater/download/romid_device_version.zip

    • How to enable Developer Settings? Go to Systemsettings --> about phone --> tap 7 times on Build Number
    • How to enable extended Power Menu? Go to Systemsettings --> Developer options --> Advanced reboot

    • How to access SIM-Contacts? You can import contacts from SIM with this app or this app to Contacts but you cant directly save contacts on SIM but you can copy Contacts to SIM with this APP

    So CyanogenMod 10.1.3 might be the last stable release for 10.1 series by CM Team.

    Also ParanoidAndroid is updating to Android 4.3
