CM10 4.1.2 SuperLite for Atrix 4g!
Ported from vincom’s SuperLite V8 for the SGS2 Skyrocket!

Enjoy the lightweight, fast and sleek SuperLite ROM for your Atrix 4g!

Downloads:

SuperLite ROM (83MB):http://www.mediafire.com/?06f6dwqra9y1gfc
SuperLite GApps (10MB): http://www.mediafire.com/?v23ayi2dsdx9phg
BlueSleep Fix (see post #189): http://www.mediafire.com/download/bbs9uc9i89m83st/SuperLite_CM10_BSF.zip
Wifi Tether Fixed (beta) and fastboot option added (see post #210). The fix is not a flashable zip and is not exactly noob-friendly. But I plan to roll it into the next version of SuperLite :)

Instructions:

Coming from different ROM? Nandroid backup, full data wipe/factory reset, flash SuperLite, reboot and allow system to stabilize. Then if you like, flash SuperLite GApps and download your favorite apps! Or optionally push your existing apps to SuperLite!

Features:

  • Fast! … 30-second install & 30-second boot (power-up to welcome screen)
  • Phase Beam live wallpaper
  • Holo Launcher HD 2.0.1
  • Working browser, wifi and camera. Videocam works but is choppy. You can try Video Illusion
  • Script Manager
  • Android Terminal Emulator
  • Circle Battery Widget
  • Highly customizable
  • Base ROM: epinter CM10 2013-02-20: Boots elegantly with epinter’s CM10 image
  • ROM updater-script runs my custom busybox auto-symlink generator featured here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1875522
ROM Port Highlights:

When I embarked on this project, I quickly discovered that porting ROMs across manufacturers is no easy matter. Yet I did my very best to preserve the original SuperLite build while adding a few helpful apps and features described above. Also…

  • Slightly modified /system/framework/framework-res.apk to keep Settings>Storage from checking for unidentified /mnt/usbdisk -- and from subsequent crash
  • Imported CM10 Usb.apk for stable charging and adb over USB
  • Imported CM10 Gallery2.apk to make the camera work. Actually the SuperLite camera took good pictures though the viewing display was blank
  • Retained most SuperLite-specific apps, binaries, permissions and libs for future growth

Screenshots:

(mild use at night and morning)

Not Working / Not Available:
  • Themes
  • NFC
  • P2P Supplicant
  • OTG (USB hosting)
  • Playready
  • Vibetonz
  • mDNIe
  • ROM updates (for now)
  • CM10 Atrix-specific (see http://www.linuxmobile.org/ )
  • Others I am not aware of :eek:
Some or all of the above may never work. Not sure…

Addons:

SuperLite-V8-Addons Flashable Zip! Seventeen apps & features rolled up into a menu-driven installer!

Install from recovery and reboot!

Certain apps in screenshot are not included. I forget which ones --- sorry :eek:

Theme chooser FC too. But it's a nice ROM! :)

Thanks for the helpful feedback. One thing I emphasize in OP is that since this ROM comes from a different manufacturer (and hence a different device), arbitrarily flashing zips and addons intended for that device to the Atrix is not advisable. For example here is a portion of vincom's "themeing_v8.zip" updater-script:

Code:
mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p24", "/system");
package_extract_dir("system", "/system");
unmount("/system");
ui_print("Done");
Note that for SGS2 Skyrocket, the EMMC device name for the /system partition is: /dev/block/mmcblk0p24, whereas for Atrix it is /dev/block/mmcblk0p12.

Same issue for multi-language keyboard.

So we would need to port theming and keyboard to the Atrix as well.

[UPDATE 08 Mar 2013, 1320 PST] And here they are, tested working:

Theme: http://www.mediafire.com/?a0a2vq134hu1aok
Keyboard: http://www.mediafire.com/?jjdd7io6jssn4ue

Combined, these two files would add another 15MB of compressed system files --- almost all of it for keyboard.

FYI, I decompiled the LatinIME.apk inside the keyboard zip and could not find Chinese language. I also looked at epinter's CM10 and could not find it.

[UPDATE 08 Mar 2013, 1350 PST] Correction: It appears that Chinese language is stored under LatinIME/res/values-zh-rCN though it does not show up in System Settings > Language &input > Language menu.

Note: Here, "theming" is just the theme infrastructure, not a package of one or more themes. There are many offerings for CM10 theme packages.

Thanks again! :)

on another note, the lapdock works quite well ( tablet mode )... not sure about the resolution though, anyone know how to check and/or increase it?

@sendust7 it seems there is no loop device support in the kernel, would you consider incorporating it? would love to get linux-on-android running :)

Sendust you are a great developer, and you may not receive all the glory of the kernel devs, but you are cut of the same cloth as them, and are an equally fantastic developer. We are glad to still have you developing for the Atrix, and your contributions are always welcomed, and supported.
I will try out your ROM in a minute and report back. Thanks.

I can't get the ROM to display any chinese character even after flashing the full keyboard. Anyone knows how to fix this?

Does it crash for you too, or does it simply not display the characters you type? after the stock keyboard crashed on me I installed one from the play store..there's probably many that support chinese, I can vouch for the one I tried, Jelly Bean keyboard. Why don't you try that as a temp workaround until the stock keyboard is fixed?
