I agree with you.
The extra settings toggle bar is like a bloat for a tablet but seems good on phone where it is not separted.
I request twa to update this rom with at least ones a month.

I though tablet mode, pure or otherwise, meant a combined status/notification bar with nav buttons on the bottom of the screen. That's still the same...

One of the glaring differences is that you can not change the drop down or in the case of tablet mode drop up, in the notification tray.

i managed to get go keyboard working as a replacement, now no playstore and no browser :/ i have tried wiping and re installing but no help

Make a backup, and then install this version. I don't think twa_priv supports this version (CM10.0, Android 4.1.x) any more, and I'm pretty sure he's not updating it any more.
That's because 4.2 is officially doing better than this ROM.

charging issue
I am assuming it's not the ROM CM10 4.1.2 as some have confirmed. But I've got it apart and ready to get into the motherboard. BUT just before I do that, wondering if anyone here know if there is a way to get power to it for Odin back, just to confirm it is not the ROM. If I push in hard, once in about 50 times the orange light will come on, but impossible to keep on. Confirmed no start after long press and again. (does that confirm it is NOT the ROM?)

You used Odin? On your kindle? You took the kindle apart? DID YOU READ FIRST?
You really should read the thread stickies in general section before doing anything else. It sounds like you may have hard bricked your device. Read the stickies, read about soupkit and unbrick utility, learn what adb is, and then do NOT post back on this thread...open a thread in Q&A section and describe what you have done and your problem in detail.

Oh sorry. I do that with my S3. Been a while since I did the Kindle, so whatever I do to get back to stock with this I've done it (didn't look up the process name) , and just wondered if there was a way to get power by any other way. It's currently dead so I can't do anything.

The download link directs to something newer than mentioned in the changelog. And this newer ROM does not install, giving some name mismatch error...

Why not install cm11 or 12
If your recovery is giving you an error there's a nodded recovery you can flash. I had to do that for my s5

You might need to clear the Play Store data to see an effect: Settings -> Apps -> Click on Google Play Store -> Click on Clear Data.
I tested it and XDA Premium HD now shows up in the store, starts and seems to work. Haven't tested any other apps because I don't know which ones people have issues with.
If you want to revert to the KF build props you need to flash the ROM again (no wipe required).

Note regarding the new gesture zones: It allows you, for example, to setup up to four top swipe zones. The second zone is the top swipe zone by default.
sbrady might provide zone visualization in the future to make it easier to setup zones.
Also, it seems that Google finally fixed the widget disappearing bug - at least for me HD Widgets survived a reboot after updating it.
