CyanogenMod 11 modded for Galaxy Ace


CyanogenMod 11 is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.4 (KK), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Ace releases aren’t working on S5830C, S5830I and S5830M version of Ace!

Installation:

  • Boot into CWM Recovery 6.0.5.3_1
  • Wipe data/factory reset
  • Format /System
  • Install zip from SD card / choose ROM zip from SD card
  • Install zip from SD card / choose HOTFIX zip from SD card (this step is only needed if there is a hotfix)
  • After installation reboot system now
  • 1st Boot take about 3 - 5 minutes (caches are generated in this time
Dont wipe data after flashing the rom / it will break playstore,Camera & TotalCommander!

Dont flash any gapps packages!
Install needed google apps from PlayStore!

  • How to enable Developer Settings? Go to Systemsettings --> about phone --> tap 7 times on Build Number
  • How to enable extended Power Menu? Go to Systemsettings --> Developer options --> Advanced reboot
  • How to enable Screenshot function? Go to Systemsettings --> Buttons--> Power menu --> Tick Screenshot

You have to be on latest CM10.2 from junkins to flash the new recovery or else you'll get blue screen

tried it few hours back and very much impressed
if i do not read the heading of this thread i will think that it is a very stable version of cm 11
but art is not working when i selct art or art debug and reboots the phone it shows dalvik again { i think it make apps run smoother and faster also}
many settings are also missing { i dont blame @Mardon cos it is a initial release}
camera is working fine even though it is initial release {which is a very big thing }
wifi hotspot works fine
some lags observed but still no big deal
ram management is ok than cm 10.1 or cm 10.2

overall i can say that the rom is nice and for mr @Mardon i can say that you are doing awesome work for people like us who just flash new roms made by you people by using your time and brain

and please continue the good work and please focus on ram management

We removed ART because its not working on ARMv6 cpu, so dont try to switch to ART.

Maybe if team androidarmv6 will make it working. But its low priority i think, its only an experimental runtime yet and much apps are not working with ART. Also official cm team gives no support when you enable ART.

can you change apex launcher to Epic launcher next release it's the best KK looking launcher and has lots of customizations try it yourself :good: :D
