CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 5.0, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

Code:
#include
/*
 * Your warranty is now void.
 *
 * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
 * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
 * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
 * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
 * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
 *
 * Submitting bug reports on nightly builds is the leading
 * cause of male impotence.
 */
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community.
It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed.
CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

STATUS: ALPHA
This is a preview build, do not install it if you want a stable ROM.

  • This is a preview of what is going down on CM12.0
  • Rom is in alpha state so many bugs are to be expected!
  • All the source code is available on my Github.
  • I do this on my free time and unfortunately I don't have much.
  • Any help is a appreciated!

KNOWN BUGS:
  • SELinux set to permissive
  • NON PIE executable execution allowed
  • I probably forget many :)

First results: not bad, not bad at all ;) no fc until now. Some hickups in playstore in my list of apps; when scrolling down says i have to connect where i was connected already. No big issue for me.
Keep going this way and soon this should be in beta :)

Grtz,

John

Nice! Will it be updateable to next CM12 ROMs with the internal update feature? ie. when will the ROMs appear here:
https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=p5110
Yes, update feature is available. New ROMs will need to be added to the repository and will appear at that time.

I wiped my device before installing the upgrade and it seems to not have the Play Store?

Installed it again (without wiping), didn't replace SU (which the recovery told me to do) and installed Gapps. Play Store is back :)

Does it support GPU overclocking?
No-frills CPU Control & AnTuTu CPU Master say it's set between 300 (min) and 1.008 GHz (max) by default. Governor is "interactive" and I/O Scheduler set to "cfq". Can change Max. clock speed to 1.2 GHz or 1.35 GHz. Applying worked fine. According to the Frequency stats in No-frills it touched 1.2 GHz after rebooting, so it seems to work too :)

Eh... GPU overclocking? Thought it said CPU overclocking :). Will read first how that GPU overclocking works...haven't done that before on the tab2....

Changed GPU Max Frequency to 384 using Tickster MOD and that too worked fine :). Not sure where to test whether it works though ;)

Antutu Benchmark v5.5 with CPU set to 1.2 GHz and GPU to 384 is 13053:

Do recent cards work perfect on this ROM?
Because on Slimlp recent cards were black in Portrait mode.

Not sure. Do you mean Google Now cards? Yes, they seem to work. Google Now logo is not presented when long-pressing the Home button (it's empty) but it does work correctly as far as I can see. Will post some screenshots later this evening.
