hmm so I flashed alpha 3 today and it kept rebooting and freezing (did a clean install with all wipes maybe something went wrong :D)
it would run nicely for a few minutes after a reboot then starts slowing down and finally get a black screen before rebooting again :)
I was able to flash SuperSU but couldn't get to open it, maybe there is a new version that supports lollipop??
I wanted to verify if that could get root working but oh well :)
btw there is a guide here on xda about porting recovery from one device to another, I don't know if it will work or not thus haven't tried it.

Just get your local firmware which you could flash via pc odin (download mode).

I don't do restore as well.. All kept in the cloud.

No problem with alpha3. Clean install with bauner KK kernel. What kernel did you used before flash?

You may install su..but it will not work. Not rooted yet. Wait for that.

Thanks Bro,
Please confirm
rather than flashing a entire Rom is it possible flash rooted custom kernel (Philz TW kernel) via odin, boot in to recovery and flash custom Rom.

Thanks in advance

Normally I flash original firmware via pc odin and then root it using philz.

Then feel free to flash custom rom.

You dont need to flash the whole stock rom.
Just flash philz kernel via odin
After that flash a kitkat compatible kernel
Then u can flash either kitkat or lollipop again

Some custom rom need a complete firmware before flash. If you are sure that the custom rom have a complete installation, then you just need the kernel and cwm to flash new custom rom.

I just provide you the safe steps.

I'm pretty sure that this will fix the graphical glitches (we had the same on KK when locking the screen, rotating the screen and maybe in other places).

https://gerrit.omnirom.org/#/c/2129/
https://github.com/bauner/cm-androi...xys2-common/blob/cm-11.0/BoardCommonConfig.mk

As you can see, you are missing that flag.
thanks for your hint, but it is already there a few lines deeper
Code:
COMMON_GLOBAL_CFLAGS += -DFORCE_SCREENSHOT_CPU_PATH -DWORKAROUND_BUG_10194508

Hi, I am trying to compile @bauner's Rom (to learn and to help, if possible) but I have some trouble syncing the repos, what am I missing? I get an error when I do breakfast n7000. I did:
Code:
mkdir bauner
cd bauner
repo init -u [url]https://github.com/bauner/cm-android[/url] -b cm-12.0
repo sync
. build/envsetup.sh
breakfast n7000
Perhaps some dev would be so kind to help me and/or to share its local manifest? (I am on a Fedora 20)
Thanks a lot
Andrea

@bauner Thanks a Ton Mate!

Hi,

I am a newbee here, however, not an ignorant to flashing ROMs on my Note. I have been using the Note N7000 for about 3 years now and have flashed various ROMs in the past. But this, by far, is the best I have ever flashed. Thanks a ton @bauner.

Giving you a brief of how my note responds to this ROM that I have been on for two days...

Pros
1. Very Smooth. There is absolutely no lag on anything
2. Every app that I have had in the past works perfectly fine on this ROM
3. It is feature packed
4. I love the profiles that it has come with
5. The camera quality is absolutely amazing (someone said previously that you cant save the image - trust me, all is fine :) )
6. Once the ROM is installed properly, it detects the SD Card from any of the file explorers - so no worries on that front. All my data is safe

[/B]Cons[/B]

1. Though we are able to detect the SD Card through ES File Explorer, on recovery it does not read the SD card
2. When in recent apps or screenshots, the image has pixel loss
3. Though data network shows E/G/3G/H/ H+ there is no data conectivity (I have no issues with this since I am on WiFi at home and at work, and dont need it while on the road :) )
4. Video does not play, you can hear the audio though

Thanks a million once again. Hope your bricked phone comes back unbricked soon and hope to see the final bug free version released.

Update: I charged my phone last evening at 6pm to 100%.... with average calling and FB and Whatsapp i am left with 48% battery at 1pm this afternoon :) that is awesome!!! Phone feels like it just got an air con with this ROM, doesnt heat at all.

do not use my cm-android because it is not in sync with the latest cm changes.
use the original cm manifest and create a local manifest with the changes for n7000

No I flashed it along with the ROM itself. there is no working recovery with this ROM.
Sorry cant test the new version as I have reverted back to KK ROM

I flashed it directly over KK. I think I had fc's and reboots because I flashed SuperSu :)

in my tests supersu was causing problems with freeze and reboots after an app was asking for root
Yes I think so too :) I flashed alpha 1 and didn't had any issues and I think its because I flashed superSU with alpha3 there were these problems. I will soon try alpha 3 without SuperSU.
Thanks again bauner for all your hardwork :D

You mean I should use the the original https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android (branch cm-12.0) repo and add all your changes in the local_manifests? Could you share your local_manifests (or your roomservice.xml), please?
Thanks a lot (and please forgive me for my noobness)

1. Though we are able to detect the SD Card through ES File Explorer, on recovery it does not read the SD card : I can live with that
2. When in recent apps or screenshots, the image has pixel loss : How often we take screenshots.. So it's fine to give it a try.
3. Though data network shows E/G/3G/H/ H+ there is no data conectivity (I have no issues with this since I am on WiFi at home and at work, and dont need it while on the road :) ) : Problem No. 1 (But Let's hope @bauner will get his working Note in next week.....)
4. Video does not play, you can hear the audio though : Problem No. 2

Let's hope for the Best.... :)

Thanks for the review.... : and Thanks @bauner for this awesome development.

:)
