you can try other camera apps from playstore

Probably it won't open in apps which use a lot of ram though I can't imagine whatsapp or 9gag use too much ram

I'm currently testing different low memory killer values for the next beta and I don't have this problem.
But it's possible that ram intensiv apps can cause problems in beta7 because the free ram values are set too high

Actually it does not work in any app that I have tested (Gmail,YouTube,MX Player)

Some apps work on Nexus7/Lollipop but not on NightOwl

I have two (expensive) paid apps that don't work on NightOwl Beta 7 but on my Nexus 7 (2012, GSM) after the recent OTA upgrade to Android 5.0.2.

1st app: "Arznei aktuell" (a german drug database). After downloading the database it stays in the start screen on Beta 7 and doesn't react any more.

2nd app: "Pschyrembel KW" (a comprehensive german clinical dictionary). Doesn't accept any input on Beta 7.

But it's possible that ram intensiv apps can cause problems in beta7 because the free ram values are set too high

I'm guessing this isn't related to low memory killer values.
Here are previous post about (probably) the same issue:

I realized that it's not "home" and "menu" that don't work, it's "recent screens" only (I had it mapped to "menu button short press" and "home button long press" at first, which is why I said home and menu don't work properly). I tried using the navigation bar (enabling it in build.prop) and LMT launcher, but "recent screens" continued to be inconsistent even with those.
Interestingly enough, "recent screens" always works fine when I'm on the homescreen, but usually doesn't work when I'm in applications, and definitely doesn't work after launching the keyboard.
So in conclusion, all navigation actions work fine on the homescreen, and "recent screens" usually doesn't work in apps, regardless of the navigation method I use.

I'm also facing this issue. When in a app or inside settings, longpressing home button doesn't work. But when on homescreen it works flawlesly.

I have tested it a bit more now, and it seems that it is only in a few apps this happens. I can't get recent up when in gmail. Have tried 10 times now. But in other apps, it isn't persistent. I use Maxthon browser, and here its only occasional. And this goes for a few other apps as well. But most apps i go straight to recent when long pressing home button.

I have recents apps associated to menu button (short press) and have issues too. Open an app and press menu button (recents screen works) and then press menu button again several times.

It can be cm12 or rom related, i don't know. No issues in beta 4, 5 or 6.

The issue with recent menu is apparently visible when you are in an app and go to the recent menu. Then select same or another app in the recent menu. Once you again in the app recent menu doesn't work till we go back to the home screen.

Hopefully it'll help you in finding the cause :good:

So, I've got a loop boot problem (up+power+middle), I cannot enter again into CM. Any idea for fix this? (dowload mode works, but I dont find all the Odin files..)
In this version: dosent have any air connection (network,wifi,bt) and only the musicplayer sees the sd card soundfiles.

please write what you exactly have done....because the kernel version from beta7 should be 3.0.64-Bauner and the rom version cm_n7000-userdebug 5.0.2 LRX22G

I have attached an app-specific logcat for an attempt to launch the app com.ifap.arzneiaktuell. I have finally killed the app, since it didn't react any more. Thereafter the sdcard1 partition had disappeard / been unmounted and I had to mount it again from the recovery.

Perhaps you should just install the app yourself and repeat the above procedure.

Arznei aktuell is working well for me. But I have not tried to buy the addons....

Your logcat output show that it can't load the database from sdcard.
You can try to delete
/storage/sdcard0/Android/data/com.ifap.arzneiaktuell
and try again.
If this will not help it is possible that it's an lmk ram problem which will be fixed in the next beta

How To prevent Lost ROOT, bootloops and draining battery and phone overheating
Clean install. (Factory Reset (Recommended to avoid any FC or bootloops) , delete cache and Dalvic cache OR
Dirty install ( without Factory Reset )
1. flash Beta7
2. flash GAPPS
3. Flash fix keyboard ( fix beta7)
4. flash UPDATE Super su-V2.45 ( prevent LostRoot. )
5. you can chose :
a. stay in Bauner kernel ( included in ROM) and go to no 6
b. OR flash Forest kernel v5
c. OR flash r9 rawkernel Geecko
6. flash TRIMM.
7. Delete cache/Dalvik. (avoid random reboots )
8. Reboot before reboot usually question Fix system root ? answer No , you will get root

A. If you have draining battery you can do
1. Go to Recorvery
2. delete cache and Dalvic cache
3. flash TRIMM
4. or change kernel ( save kernel for LP : MMC_CAP_ERASE is disabled, Chasmodo )
5. reboot
6. use regularry boost Apps : CM,CCleaner, Boost Now, defrag and so on from google play

B. If your file defragmented
Used regullalry Defrag or defrag PRO ( from Google play )
C. If your phone overheat ( because many apps autostart , same time more than 20 apps run togetter !!! ) Use regullalry autostart Manager and from Clean Master ( Google play)

D. If you confused file structure in your SD card
Manage your file.Use X-plore from Google play ( very used full used from era ICS)

: I still used Bauner kernel and waiting new Bauner kernel with TRIMM
