Finally, I repartitioned. I flashed *just* the PIT file did a full wipe, formatted scard0 and installed the ROM. Perfect.

It should be noted in the GDocs summary the start post links to that the full procedure is not needed if one already sports a custom ROM.

Yes flashing a full rom is not needed in every case.
But the repartition guide will show a way which should work in all cases (also for users which are using custom roms for the first time)

I had myself trouble to format the internal sdcard in the recovery after repartitioning if I only used a kernel. (and also the format option inside my rom was broken in earlier versions)

But this was with the old cwm recovery. Maybe it will work better with the current philz or twrp recovery.

@bauner. I have a problem with the calls. The other person that I talk to doesn't understand what I say because my voice appear distorted and he hear his voice like a microphony. Maybe some system settings? This I also report to you in old versions of nightowl and kk, omnirom, etc. Only custom roms. In stock rom every thing was ok. Thank you in advance.

There are no other reports of such an problem.
And you will have it with all custom roms?
Did you also try it directly after a clean install before you have installed any app?

One of my friends came to me complaining about the laggy performance of the stock ROM on his Note 1 (he is not aware of the world of custom ROMs). I installed the latest NightOwl on his device and he was blown away by the performance and smoothness and says that he now has a completely new device! He passes on his thanks to you @bauner for rejuvinating our note device!

Encountering sleep of death with this rom, I suspect the culprit to be Power Nap (alternative Stamina Mode). Are there any process that should be allowed wakelock access?

I never had a sod in the last months.
If you have sod problems you should first try to disable the powernap xposed module.
If this will not help you should try if a clean install will fix it.

Can you please install "cpu temperature", let it monitor in the background and then tell me the highest temperature
Hi @bauner, as adviced, I have installed the CPU Temperature app and have been monitoring this. Below are the readings (in Degrees Celsius)-
1) When the phone is cool and not being used - in the rage of around 38 to 42
2) Light usage (like browsing, camera) - in the range of 50 to 55
3) While Gaming (lumosity only) - in the range of 60 to 65. It touched 69 for a brief moment, but was mostly in the provided range

I also observed that buzzing sound while using the camera happens only while using the back camera and stops immediately after switching to the front facing one. The sound stops for some time when I touch anywhere on the screen to focus.

I think there might some hardware issue , there might some damage on the handset speaker chord , I'm saying this bcoz when ever u put a earphone male jack in phone's female jack a distorting voice comes in the earphone's speaker while pushing the male jack inside, that's because the chords on male jack and female jack did'nt perfectly sit on eachother till you perfectly push the jack inside ,so might be some hardware issue

And my guess is that when u open camera the handset speaker might get activated

Do you have this sound while you are on a call??
If yes then its a confirmed hardware issue
If not then no idea :p

I can't say much about the buzzing but your temperatures are ok.
