Mine was overheating (45 to 48 degrees easily) with KK when doing something in the phone (youtube, facebok, etc, with 3G)
Now, with alpha 5.1 and alpha 7.1 it's not overheating, however, from time to time i feel it a little bit laggy.
I'm not using SetCPU to set frequencies, it's the standard raw r7 settings.
Thanks for the replies. And now i think its my phone with 70+apps intlstalled cause the overheating. Btw i enabled 'show cpu usage' in dev settings and theres no user apps running instead of system processes but the top of my phone still heating badly. I have no clue tho. Hmmm

What you should do is;

- Bear in mind that flashing a kernel and a Rom is totally seperate things. You can flash a kernel without a Rom and vice versa. The only problem would be booting problem.
-Any Rom will not work with any kernel (wait a minute. everyone knows that :) ). The trick is you can boot into recovery comes with the kernel even if you cannot boot into the Rom.
- Most of the time, Roms come with a compatible kernel and we change these kernels with a more preferrable ones. This is what we should do here as well.
-The only trick here is that we do not have a properly working recovery. (BTW, recovery and kernel are also not related to each other . But whatever, let's skip this part now.) Therefore, you should first flash a kernel containing a compatible and fully working recovery.
-There are couple of ways doing so. You can use Mobile Odin, HCkTool, Odin (PC), etc.
-To do this:
1. Flash the Lollipop Rom. A7,1. Let it boot and then settle.
2. Flash any other kernel onto existing Rom. AND DO NOT LET IT BOOT.
3. Boot into recovery.
4. Flash Raw Kernel 7 L.
5. Now Boot and rock'n roll :)
Great Idea sir; recovery working

Get an external charger for the battery
charging when power off is working ever since alpha 5 . only problem is indicator is not showing that makes us think it is not working . i have tried it . put your phone in charging even in switched off mode then remove the charger after 10-15 minutes and restart your phone using home key and power key . it will definately turn on .
