Here is the NightOwl cm12 android 5.0.2 build from source for N7000.
This is BETA2! It is very stable and most of the things are working but there still can be some bugs!

Join the NightOwl community on Google+
Thanks to TouchLeClouds For creating the page.

NOTE:
The older Raw v7 and v8 kernel for Beta1 will not work because of some changes in the init scripts.
If you want to use the Raw kernel in Beta2 make sure to use the new r8 for Beta2 from GeeckoDev

Changes from Beta1:

videoplayer reboot bug is fixed
keyboard in first start wizard is fixed
internal sdcard is fixed (thx to Lysergic Acid and the Omni Team)
comma in calculator
android 5.0.2
notification sound in some apps
bootanimation does not stop to early
signal strenght bar is fixed
ril fixes for manual network selecting

Known issues:

Offline Charging animation when device is off
If you can't turn on wifi go into wifi settings and enable scanning always enable and reboot your device
Video recording is only working in 480p mode

1. Copy Rom + Google Apps to your device.
2. Boot into recovery
3. Factory Reset/ Clear cache (Recommended to avoid any FC or bootloops)
4. Flash the Rom and Gapps.

tried, no success

it appears at the end of the screen I think the Philz small menu, maybe 6.0.3 version, when I immediately stop to press the 3 buttons, it disappear and restart the boot-animation original samsung stays 2 seconds and disappears and continue like this, like christmas lights...no way to see recovery mode....
well, I think you should go to odin and flash full stock rom or just a kernel and then flash raw8 beta2 kernel then flash the rom

Just sharing. I install beta 2 nightowl over dirty install. It create the proper sdcard0. Den I use root explorer cut all my previous files from 0 and paste in sdcard0. I went back wipe everything in recovery. Fresh install beta2 nightowl+raw8 beta8+mini gapps+Walkman (quality of sound is good) den reboot. I dont get weather in status header. Anyone can screenshot how it looks like? I see if there is a need or not. Else I can live w/o it. Cheers.

@bauner,
Thanks for the reply (and the ROM!):

between the battery and the camera is the cpu.
I thought that might be the case . .
with my kernel the device can get a bit warmer on high cpu load because I use higher thermal throttling values to give the device a bit more power in games and benchmarks.
I started using custom ROMs soon after buying the phone new and there seemed to be heating problems from then on which just got worse as the version numbers increased - eventually I had to go back to almost stock ROMs and the heating problems stopped.
I use it on my device for many months without any side effects.
Hmm . . it seems my device has more of a heating problem than others . .
I have also heated my cpu with an cpu burner for more than 3 hours without any problem.
I just ran the phone on the AnTuTu Battery tester and it caused the "Your battery is overheating" message almost straight away . .
The overheating temperature where your device is forced to an kernel panic to prevent the cpu is untouched
Do you mean the code for that area is untouched?
Thanks,
Phil.

went on Odin3 v1.85 and flash a stock ROM 4.1.2 LT9
after turn on the devide on the donwload mode,
Odin says FAILED
and I don't know why, it's a N-7000 ROM...it's the correct firmware...

do u have please a kernel flashable to link, with a md5 extension file, cause Odin recognize only these file of file to flash.

THANKS

You need to root the device first, then install the ROM on the stock firmware.

yes, I have the zip archive called "Root_SuperSU.0.96"
but the problem is that I can flash it ONLY through recovery, but I can't have access to recovery, and
accessing through "download mode" using Odin,
it asks me a .md5 extension file to upload it through PDA mode, not a zip extension file.

How can I root through Odin downloading mode?

I hope my english is good enough, sir.

I've read that maybe I can root through Odin using cfroot by chainfire,
can you please post here a link of the last version of "cfroot chainfire" ?
(before trying to flash 5.0.2 I was on stock 4.1.2 Italy LT9)

thank you!

I had the same issue but I cleared the data of FB application from Settings>Apps, then rebooted to recovery and wiped cache. I then installed the latest version from the play store (v24.0.0.30.15) and it's working fine now. First time you run the FB app, let it run for as long as it requires (up to a minute or two). Hope this solves it for you guys.
