I did a clean install of version 1.8 on my defy and now the SD-card is stuck in Read only. Can't change to Read and Wright. I tried to change it with Root Explorer. I did a reboot, checked vsel(it's 28 on 300Mhz), tried to unmount and remount.... I now will do a wipe cache/dalvik cache and if it not helps i'm going to change ROM and wait for 1.9...

Also when Aroma Installer finished it didn't reboot just quit to recovery where it said that Installation aborted.(Status 0)

I was using 1.8 betas and didn't have a problem....don't know what changed in the final version.

UPDATE:

Wipe cache and dalvik cache did not help but i might found the problem. I can't delete the aroma folder. Maybe it's damaged or something. I will try to format the SD-Card but this have to be an aroma installer bug or something...

I'm having some troubles:
1. Boot up time is way too long and there is no fast reboot
2. sometimes the connection control gets stuck I.E: cant change to airplane mode, cant turn off wifi, change from wcdma to gsm etc.
3. I cant choose a different keyboard, when selecting a different input type it checks it, and does nothing, when i go to settings again its still unchecked.

So I got an Defy+ from a User of Android-Hilfe, special THANKS

Now I can test the Defy+ Rom by myself and even more. Now I have an own Defy and don't have to ask my girlfriend always for hers. I will try to get a new run on this weekend.

And for everybody who asks about a Jelly Bean Rom,,, NO. I tried the latest Quarx from 09.11 on this Defy and still, this is so slow, Apps starting so slow and after running a couple they are saved in memory, but only running one more kills another one, Kamera crashes a couple of times, specially with the new Sphere features, and so on. Nothing for me.

Wohoooo...Good job Tweety. I love your ROM and now it's gonna be legen-----whait for it...It's already legendary, so it's gonna be PERFECT Ultimate ROM for Defy.

If you would ask me to say only one thing what I would like that your new ROM has...
That would be a ROM with possibility to handle different batteries without changing settings/files/...
So for example I have a Normal Defy battery. It discharges. I swap it with Defy+ battery and continue my work.

I can't wait to move to US of A so I can donate you, Quarx, maniac, Epsy and some others some cache! (not possible from Serbia atm)
You are all just great Devs that fight against big ugly corporation (MOTOROLA) to keep one of the best phones ever still alive.
Cheers!

don't think this will be possible, someone had to ask everytime a battery changes what kind of battery it is. BUT I think I will try to make a ALL IN ONE ROM. I asked maniac which files are different between a Defy and a Defy+ and he didn't know but said why not scanning all files with an App and I did.

I saw that there are maybe 30-40 files which are different, all other files are the same. This would be possible to make an ALL IN ONE CM7 Rom for both devices.

I also tried today JB from quarx and he is making a good job but way to slow for me, sorry won't invest any time in that and don't really believe there will be a good solution for JB. I recommend to buy soon a new phone, Razr M ( or in Europe called i ) is really good. Saw it yesterday and was really impressed from the speed, the materials, the size, nearly perfect.

Hy there tweety, I will test your rom tonight ^^ Since I've got many good reviews about your rom ^^

I was actually in cm10 and it is true in 3 or 4 days the phone will start to give problems, this is why I cameback to cm7 and msginger, it would be great If your rom could achieve the battery performance of ms ginger (instant deep sleep + 2-5mah) its really impressive and I have got my record with this rom (38 hours on with medium usage)

good luck with your new rom!

EDIT: I see there are many OPTIONAL stuff in your rom and Im pretty sure you know what it works best or what you commonly use, could you put in first post OPTIONAL + RECOMENDED or OPTIONAL: DEFAULT RECOMENDED

pleasee :D I think for example that miui camera does better photos than the common one but maybe this is not true :/ so could you take 1 min to put on optional if its recommended to substitute the default one or if its recomended to stay with the default settings? thank you

EDIT 2: On the GAPPS and Motorola Apps you can obviously let them as optional because its to have them or not, but in some cases (for example wifi settings) an average user won't know if its better to leave it as it comes or to apply the alternative wifi settings marked as optional :p

I'm a little desperate. I put this Rom on my girlfriend's defy and the phone has massive lags. Sometimes a couple of seconds.
Already did a Reflash. Wipe. Format system. No improvement...

Is this Rom known to develop lags?

Any hints?

Thanks!

Hey man!

You're doing a great job! I really enjoy using this rom.
However, I still have WiFi problem as i had in WR1.7: at some point, WiFi can't find any networks to connect, or it finds but unable to connect. Only solution is to reboot device.

Beside that there are small bugs, but I believe it's because of conflicts between application.

Keep the good work!

Nobody know about the SD card problem?
And now i have a new problem with data connection. I connect with a Tasker's task and G or H appears but not connect.

This two bugs will kill me ;)

Hi Tweety et al :)

After long time of testing the WR1.8 I must say that it is really great ROM.
BUT (why there are always butts? :-\ ) few things that should be fixed imho:
1. Huge booting up and powering off time. Previous versions were much faster when it comes to booting your phone up. This one takes almost 3-5 min every time you reboot your phone. Powering off the phone takes too much time too.
2. After few days of usage without reboot (like 4-6 days) phone starts to lag like hell. So one has to reboot phone in order to work again. I will test one clean script that I found on xperia Ray developement that you should run every 2 days to mantain your phone overall speed (LINK). But again, previous versions seemed to last mush longer. I remember that I could run my phone for 2 weeks without rebooting it with WR1.5.1.
3. Some general CM7.2 bugs (to end the call you sometimes need to push END 2,3 times; WiFi N-mode doesn't work - I think I should start new topic about this issue, cause I noticed that one on CM for Xperia Ray too, so that is CM problem I guess - I always select the Stable WiFi in Aroma, so N mode is disabled, but I would like to have it...)

That's all. Those bugs are not essential, but are very irritating sometimes (especially when you need to reboot your phone cause it lags a lot and then you wait for reboot 5 minutes)

Keep up with good work Tweety.
Cheers!

Switched to WR 1.8 after I got some problems with CM10 that lead to reflashing my SBF. WR is awesome, way faster than what I previously used! :D
No issues so far on a MB525, SOC module. This will be my daily driver from now on.
Thanks Tweety!

If you have supercharged why not try using the engine flush option?

That's the same like the script I'm talkin about, but this script is extracted so you can use it with SM.

Have you find the solution for Installation aborted (Status 0)?
I was gonna reinstall WR1.8 and end with the same lines as you did.
I redownloaded the WR1.8 and tried with it and no luck.
But WR1.7.1 installed without problems.
Will try with SD card format now, just need to transfer 30gb to computer 1st :)

If you got that message after aroma installer finished then it's not a big deal, reboot and everything will be fine. SD card format is just only needed if u can't copy some files or folders from your SD-card, that means it is damaged and you can only delete it with format. Try copy aroma folder first.

Also i found out that if you change ROM from MIUI to CM or from CM to MIUI then you need a fresh start from stock Froyo ROM because there will be bugs. Wipe data is not deleting everything.

I'm not able to tether my connection via wifi. After I tick the option I have the icon in the notification bar for a couple of seconds, but then it deactivates and gives a simple "Error" under the menu option. Cleared cache and Dalvik cache again, still the same. I wouldn't want to reflash the whole rom though. Anyone else with similar issues?
