hey guys , please reply , does redmi 3 comes with locked or unlocked bootloader? if locked, how fast they unlock?
Redmi 3 comes with locked bootloader and it does take 10-14 days for getting unlocking permission. First you have to apply for the permission.
Still the best ROM available for our phone. The other CM ROM on this thread is broken and the MIUI is incredibly slow. Updates would be fantastic.

First of all, sorry if this is completely out of topic. I'm new to the forums and still learning my ways here, and don't have enough of a post count to open a new topic (but I've tried the search button first hehe)
I've been wanting to flash a custom rom to my redmi 3 and, after reading some reviews, topics and etc., I decided for it to be either this one from Cofface, or the 13.0 pinned here on this section.
Since I'm a completely super-duper-noob on this area of modding, I thought that maybe I could be better with this version, instead of having to keep installing new ones as new betas are released to 13.0. Does this makes any sense, or I will I need to do the same with this one?
Secondly. I've tried to find or gather information to know how should I proceed in order to mod my Redmi 3, but I've failed to find a guide that can get a noob like me through all the steps since the start to the point up to when I'm ready to use my modded phone. Does anybody know of a guide of sorts? Or even scattered guidances to it that work with this version. I would be deeply grateful
And, lastly, I've read more than once that I have to apply for a bootloader code with Xiaomi, but failed to find where. How do I do it?
tl;dr to make it easier, maybe:
- I'm a complete noob. Should I install this version or the 13.0 beta? Why?
- How do I do it? I couldn't find a comprehensive guide.
- How do I apply for a bootloader code with Xiaomi?

Hey there mate, you can start off by going here http://en.miui.com/thread-228054-1-1.html
It will show you how to properly unlock the bootloader for your device. In the meantime if you'd like to install CyanogenMod rom even with a locked bootloader, you can, by installing SpaceX MIUI 8 Rom by ManhIT. It comes pre-loaded with TRWP recovery and from there you can flash whatever Rom that is available for your device. I'm currently using CM12.1 by nehz and I find it very stable for my Redmi 3 Pro. As for CM 13 beta 2, I have also tried it and I would say that it is also well for daily use but there are minor bugs so personally I'm still waiting until they are fixed by the developer. Either way, you won't be disappointed with whichever rom you pick.

So the final version is released or not? at present using CM13 brought by Anik khan, it's working real great.
The date of the ROM is in March and the pro version was released in April, so probably not.

*I am still waiting for my bootloader to be unlocked but this is the ROM I'd try when it is. So far I've been reading the comments on the forum, there hasn't been reports of issues with this ROM. Please do an Antivirus scan using your preferred antivirus app upon flashing anyway. (Some Chinese CM12.1 ROMS come with bloatware and 1 was reported to have a Trojan Horse picked up by a Chinese antivirus app - which could have been a false positive anyway http://www.miui.com/thread-3980415-1-1.html)
Known Bug: LED notification light remains on when a notification comes in. (does not flash)

I believe GApps have to be flashed too. If I'm not wrong, flash ARM64 > 5.1 > pico. (http://opengapps.org/)

I have used this ROM for over 2 weeks and it is extremely stable for everyday use. The headphones issue takes some plugging in/out of headphones, but it works after a while.3Thanks for sharing.
I'm already testing this ROM. This rom have the same bugs as the others CM builds for example the LED notification is bugged (doesn't blink) and you can't choose what LED colour do you want for each app.
Also it comes without Radio FM.
Im still testing battery life.3Im on the 4th version of CM 12.1 from miui.com.
After the report of trojan in rom i scanned with AVG and Sophos, found nothing. 360 AV found a trojan, but not clear what exactly.
See attachted screen shots. I will flash th cofface rom and report back.

EDIT :
I dirty flashed the cofface rom over 4th version CM 12.1. No more trojan found by 360 AV.2Battery life is worse than miui, but I think it is just a matter of time, after optimization it will be better. Way better I think.
Also can't wait to see CM13. But this Chinese forums, are just disgusting, no clear description, no bugs/working/not working sections... Ahhh.
