I cannot install this ROM on my Nokia 6.1 TA-1089.
Everytime I try to flash the zip, it gives me an error loading the file from the SD card.
I backed up everything before flashing this ROM and wiped the partitions mentioned, but when I tried to restore it back It didn't went well, the restore was unsuccessful.
I had to install the stock rom all over again and then updated it to the latest pie.
Time wasted.

This is probably an issue on your side rather than with the ROM.
Did you try flashing from your Internal Storage, rather than from your SD Card?
Which TWRP version were you using?
I tried flashing it from both sd card and internal storage, I am getting the same error for both.
I am on the latest TWRP 3.3.1-0
Could you try flashing Omni rom and see if you get the same error message or if it flashes successfully.

Please read the flashing instructions carefully on the Omni thread and follow it exactly.

EDIT: Discovered the issue here was that I should not be flashing TWRP, only booting to it via:
fastboot boot recovery.img

At this point, the system boots into TWRP no matter how many times I reboot or shutdown the phone. I finally found an option in TWRP for Advanced -> Fix Recovery Bootloop. After that, it started trying to boot AEX, but it sits at the splash screen (AEX with the circle animating) forever, by which I mean, at least 30 minutes. I tried to be patient, but surely that's not normal?
Anyone know what I might have done wrong?

OK, got it booting. Almost everything except NFC is working for me right now. This will again need a separate flashable vendorimage (community vendor v2 maybe) as there are heck load of changes need to done to have it booting. Might not be needed once official stock arrives. I will release this build after a few optimizations updates. Also as this is booting, assume OmniROM 10 as also booted.

Bluetooth audio is a known issue. Needs me to copy blobs from stock. Also, separate builds with MicroG and GAPPS are planned to avoid flashing issues at all (and for me to enable dm-verity). I have nuked Adaptive Low Memory Killer added by QCOM in kernel (present in Stock ROMs). This was causing aggressive application killings. Also I have enabled CPU Input Boost.
Bottom line is Performance is improved (remember it costs battery and it takes time for adaptive battery to learn your usage), Idle drain is almost 0% for me since past few days during tests (use with aggressive battery).
NFC and Manual Network selection will have to wait. I will also do one more ROM i.e. MokeeROM. It gives nightly updates and everything is done automatically once setup is done properly.
