[ROM] CyanogenMod 10.1 Nightlies (4.2.1)

I installed this ROM 2 days ago and I really don't know what you're talking about (touched nothing in the equalizer). Listening via speakers right now. The only thing that doesn't seem to work is the bass amplification, but you can get that via the equalizer, I guess.

I also didn't change any setting after installing CM. The external speaker sounds as if it is broken, there is a lot of distortion, a crackling sound. With all sliders set to max in the sound settings the volume is about 50 to 75% of the stock rom volume. After installing a stock TW rom (or any other TW based custom rom) everything is fine again.

Maybe others can tell us if this bug has been fixed on early nightlies since, I repeat, I can't feel anything bad with speakers right now... Maybe you're referring to some of the unofficial builds? Also, I'm talking about the n7100 not the American version sgh-i317.

Is anyone else having issues downloading the latest nightlies?

I have tried using the CM Updates option under Settings - About Phone and receive the message "Unable to download the update file".

I have also tried downloading the file directly to my phone by browsing to the get.cm site and downloading today's nightly file but I get a 404 error.

I can recommend cm10.1 nightly for the n7100...especially combined with redpill Kernel from Mr Arrogant himself as the stock kernel got some bugs and not as much performance or features.
Stable, fast and 100% compatible standard.

so I come to the conclusion "my" redpill is the best kernel there is for n7100 and cm10.1

You need a wide picture because there is the scrolling wallpaper thing..

Ummm but you could extend the picture with anything like just black and setting wallpaper only for the image.. And disabling wallpaper scrolling..

Cant speak for the s3, but the note2 (n7100 at least) IS being developed by CM. Although current efforts only have it as far as a nightly release so I think we will see SAM release a stable version before CM.

CyanogenMod is like a bare bone AOSP ROM.. Not a lot of features..

Get something like Carbon ROM, JellyBam, and many others

You'll find everything and more there
