Nightly builds are not fully stable. Some builds would be stable while an update can contain a bug.
I downloaded CM12 and created my build for personal use.
Put it here if people wants a CM12 ROM.

What's the difference if you are compiling a CM12 build based on the official nightly code?

You would get the same feature, same performance, and same bugs as the official nightly build. How you build it doesn't even matter.

I don't know, I may or may not build an optimized CM again..

I actually waited for CM12 milestone but then Google released 5.1 before CM12 Milestone ever existed.. And now they've announced Android M.. I wonder if there would be a milestone release or not at all.

Cyanogen has a tie-up with YU, a company in India and they have released a stable CM12 version for the phone.

There's a difference!

What you said is actually non-sensical, CyanogenMod builds vary from device to device. Not each device gets builds at the same time. For example Nexus 5 got its CM ROM based on 5.1 before it made its way to Nexus 4. Sometimes the difference in time for supported devices is in weeks. This actually happens because of difference in hardware. Sometimes due to release of newer versions by google also leads to drop in current nightlies and developers switch to next iteration builds (in case of Paranoid Android for Mako).
So even though Yu Yureka or Yuphoria has CM12 stable, it doesn't conclude that Nexus 4 can make use of that or it may get same stable build too. Development has been quite different between these two. Yu Devices are maintained by Cyanogen Inc. whereas Nexus 4 gets CyanogenMod ROMs.

CyanogenOS and CyanogenMod is entirely different thing.

Of course CM12.1 can be considered "stable" but it depends, it's stable because Android itself is already stable. But CM makes some changes everyday to the code, and something might break when changes are applied. That's why nightly builds are unstable.

I just don't want to keep building everyday to keep up with the nightly, hence why I haven't build an optimized CM12(.1) yet.

Anyways, we're getting off topic here lol
