I can't send emojis via sms with any cm14.1 rom. But with the OOS beta 8 (nougat) or cm13 everything works.
Is, by any chance, 7 bit sms encoding enforced in cm14.1?

For this ROM I just download SuperSU from the store and install the binaries from normal mode and it worked
