While Ale Ba's ROM is quite nice, a quick look at Snakehult's thread on benchmarking shows a significant difference in speed.

Kyosa's ROM delivers the doubled speed we've been promised for Froyo. Whereas Azure benches the same as Eclair.

True, but the current Azure ROM has a lot more functionality than Kyosa's ROM. I've used both extensively and I know which I'm sticking with. Depends whether you're after that little bit of extra speed (in reality it's not double in normal use), or you want things like a working camera.

What does make it so "fast" if both are built from Froyo source ???
Because Dalvik's JIT is more or less deactivated in my builds, caused by the need for compilation with vfp. Or in other words: Dalvik cannot use it's full potential at the moment.

I did not want to enable it until other issues are fixed. Simply because there are so many things that could cause breakage in so many areas and I really prefer the conservative approach ;).

Oh, thanks for your quick & clear reply! I was wondering "why" 'cause when I read this post probably i misunderstood it...and I thought the last benchmark was done first with JIT disabled and then with JIT enabled...

Ali ba, I really appreciate your HARD work!!!!!! :)

There is no doubt that kyosa's rom is wayyy faster. For whatever reason there might be. But the one and only problem is that the camera is not working.

imo Azure is more solid, conservative and stable.
this ROM is pushing boundaries, fast and perhaps alittle buggy.

perfect match.

All credit to Ali Ba, but its still not perfected yet. This rom has been released with barely any revisions and kyosa not currently developing on it. Ofcourse Azure will be more solid.

I guess we wait for further incremental development or Bake a OTA Legend ROM when it (ever) comes out.

This ROM is the business. If it had the camera working it would be perfect.

That is the only thing.

The Azure ROM is nice and does some things better, but overall I like this ROM better. Battery life is great and I havent had any issues.

Come Back Kyosa :(
