Hi Guys! I'm currently using CM7.2 stable. can I just flash maniac's build without data wipe?

Thanks!
Should work without a problem, though I always prefer clean install - just 30 minutes longer as I have a lot of stuff. Just observe if u have any lags.

When I was on 7.2 stable I had a strange battery drop from 30 to 4%, when made clean install of last maniac's nightly the battery drop vanished.

Thanks for the help!

I had been running on CM 7.1 RC1 for a long time which built in last September. Had no problems at all. Installed CM 7.2 couple of days ago, the battery gauge doesn't work properly. Gone back to CM 7.1 stable, same thing. I didn't do a clean install, just wiped partition, dalvik cache no factory reset. I haven't had too may roms on my phone coming from nordic to CM 7.1 than 7.2. I wonder when the zip file to be installed from sd card which recovery do you go for: stable or custom? The surprising thing when I'm in the boot menu the battery percentage ok.

Thanks!
I installed the cm-7-20120616-UNOFFICIAL-jordan-signed.zip: at first use I had the battery charge drop bug from about 30% to 15% and it seems to persist also after the battery calibration.
And it would be great if someone who knows how battery indicator works - I mean which files are responsible - would explain it. There are some threads with different tips which work for some and do not for others.

I had opposite experience than ziki - had bad drop (30>4%) which occured every time with official cm7.2 and which totally vanished after installation of cm-7-20120616-UNOFFICIAL-jordan-signed.zip by maniac. So I am just :victory: and  which I do not actually like

Have an idea on batt drops: i do have a drops on cheap batteryes i've used hardly last year, but i haven't yet catched drop on original battery i rarely use cause i kinda care about it since i expect it to work better than others. My defy usage means i spend about 1.5+ batterys/day, so oftenly i kill 2 cheap batterys/day and charge them later @night.

I still have battery level drop every discharge.
I'm quite sure that this problem start (for me) from 7.2rc3 or maybe 7.2rc2.
I actually use original motorola battery.
So I will do two separate test:
1. use another battery (not original) already purchased
2. flash 7.2rc1

The battery, erratically drops at around 30%, jumps down to around 19%. Then it progressively drains till 1%. It stays on to 1% till the battery actually looses it's juice. Tried maniacs nightly builds too but does not resolve the issue.

Both tries fail :(
So, the problem for my understanding was always present in 7.2 releases.
Hope it will be fixed.

i'm using the 7.2 rc1, and i have like 3 drops of battery.
from 79~69 to 50%
from 41 to 19
and 14 to 4

have you attempted to wipe the battery status? i forgot how to do it so didn't do it yet. :p
