Same problem for me with the brightness switch of power control.
Wifi, gps, bluetooth and light are working. I tried to remove and replace the brightness but it did not work.
It is all right for me now, brigthness switcher works. I tried to check/uncheck the button with no succes, I finally had to reconfigure the "Modes of light" because automatic mode was the only one who was selected.

You have latitude active?

Try killing them, I find one always comes back - maybe the system one - but the others stay away. Sometimes up to three running.

Anyone know the best way to diagnose deep sleep issues? Might revert to rc1.5 don't call it being that bad

Nope, never used latitude, and turned all location services off. I've uninstalled maps to see if it fixes it. We'll see if that has an effect over the next few days.

I did reset the battery stats, but I'll try that again when I get home tonight.

I've been having ridiculous battery drain lately. I'll charge it before I go to bed and wake up with like 10% left.

Today I woke up in the middle of the night, saw it was on 30% and plugged it in, and went back to sleep. When I woke up again, the screen was on, and was not going above 66% charge. What gives?
I have, most of the time it's at 300MHz, and not deep sleep. I don't know which app is causing that though. My suspicion is on Maps, as there always seem to be multiple instances running.
After installing this rom on my daughters Defy, it wasn't going into deep sleep (staying @300mhz). Removed the facebook app and now it goes into deep sleep.

Re latitude

Agree don't think latitude is the issue either. Again, my desire has latitude and htc sense services active and it deep sleeps fine. No Facebook either....

I charged to full, left it for an extra hour, reset battery stats, and is now discharging.

It seems to have gone into deep sleep for now. If it still doesnt work, I'll uninstall facebook.

It sucks because the stock 2.2.2 had better batter life, with maps and facebook installed

The Camera is giving a lot of trouble these days.

Everytime I want to click a pic, I have to clear the cache from applications.

apart from the above mentioned issue, I am not facing any other problem. which is indeed awesome..

Kindly suggest a remedy for the camera problem. (I have green lens)

please everyone, search before posting! you can find everything here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Motorola_Defy
but as for now: yeah, you can go back to stock IF you follow the right instructions (flashing fixed fbs+nandroid backup). this rom is already rooted, yes, and its 2.3.7 (but theres actually almost no difference between this and 2.3.5). performance is not compareable to stock roms, this beats the crap out of them. battery is very good, it might be a little better than stock. about which one is better, you should decide.

Maybe there should be a wiki-type sticky about CM7 at the top of this board, I think there are one or two good candidates and somebody just need to spend a little time to tidy it up.

Of course some noobs will still skip it and come spamming the board, but at least we can reply them with a simple and concise link to the sticky, instead of wasting time to write again and again and again. They should spend their time reading the thread themselves, instead of spending both theirs and ours time.

Hello. I'm installed CM7 7.1.0 stable, but I have problems with USB mounting when USB debugging is enabled. I can't mount sdcard. Maybe is there any fix for this problem, or maybe is any custom kernel? Thanks.

Anybody ever found a solution for the accents in SMS bug? This is so annoying, but everything else works on this ROM better than the others, so is hard to give up :(

In need of some help here.

I was following the wiki instructions but after installing the bootmenu and rebooting I'm stuck since I forgot to transfer the rom and gapps zip, now I don't know how to get into Android so I can mount the sd-card and move it there. I tried mounting it both through the custom recovery and the Android BootMenu but it doesn't work...

edit: nevermind, got it, starting the ADB Deamon did the trick.

the sd card inside your defy is a standard micro sd card. so you can always remove it from the phone and read/write through a card reader?
