Cyanogen thanks for the excellent rom. Just a quick question that maybe anyone can answer. Is there any benefits besides being able to load any rom or free up system partition space by upgrading the SPL/Radio on the G1? I am using the latest version rom from Cyanogen and unless there are any performance gains I don't see any reason to upgrade to hardspl and upgrade the radio.

I just flashed this rom and everything looks great..

just 2 questions....

1. it seems the battery is draining faster then with the stock vodafone rom.
is this correct?

2. my phone seems to not recognize my htc wired remote anymore (for music)
When i play music it just uses the external speaker instead of the headset connected to the wired remote.

using the buttons on the wired remote also has no result.

Is there a fix?

It would be real nice to have all the languages available again in feature ROM's.
I'm still sticking to an older ROM from cyanogen because all the languages are available there.
Or if someone want's to the latets with dutch language would also be great :)

I have this same issue. I can have a 5 or 6 message convo with someone and then i just stop receiving texts from them and they NEVER come through. Or someone will text me and ask why i haven't responded to them. Ive never had this issue until the post cease and desist ROMS. I have no clue what to do. Does anyone have a solution?
I do not think I have had this yet after upgrading to 4.2.4, but if you are still having issues, so am I, most likely, and god knows how many texts I have missed. For some reason this is a low priority bug in the bugtracker, while the wong audio player opening was a critical one. Go figure.

Since The C&D, cyan just haven't been as stable as it was, if that is due to the discontinuement of stable and experimental rom or other reasons, I don't know.

I know speed and function is valued over stability, but seriously cripled phone functions should really be stable. It is, after all, a phone, even if we use it for everything else. And a phone that misses texts is a recipe for trouble.

Have you ran fix_permissions, wiped, re-partition your sd card, re-flash the ROM?

I don't know if this is the right place to report bugs, but ever since updating to 4.2.5 my phone occasionally locks up when receiving a call. The hardware lights light up and the phone vibrates, but the screen doesn't turn on. It just continues to vibrate until I pull the battery. Here's the message I get when I try to push a button when its doing this:
11-18 16:34:56.405: WARN/WindowManager(141): No focus window, dropping: KeyEvent{action=1 code=82 repeat=0 meta=0 scancode=139 mFlags=8}
I have a device state dump if that's helpful too

I see a lot of Android reboots. No phone reboot but just the android logo and startup agian.

Lots of people have this, and I suffer the same, randomly.

What logs could you use? Anything to do it? Wipe/flash/delete/wipe/wipe all tried.

phone vibrates, but doesn't wake up when called and reboots

woke up at 6:22 this morning to my phone buzzing, it was black screened and vibrating with illuminated buttons. didn't respond to pushing any of the buttons so after a minute i pulled the battery, restarted, then rebooted the phone.

This seems to be happening a lot:

There seem to be a bunch of Warnings from PowerManagerService and WindowManager, when this happens... Any ideas?

I think I found the reboot issue:

i have been using world-tour to auto change wallpaper. It reboots when it wants to do that.

Disabling world-tour fixes it.

Saw same problem with the 'locale' program elsewhere on the net.

You can download and install the HTC Sync software. It includes a driver that will work with USB tethering. After installing the software, you can uninstall the sync software and leave the drivers installed via the "Add/Remove Programs" control panel. Do a Google search to find the software. I installed version 2.0.4 and tethering is working great under XP. Vista SP2 seems to have the needed driver built in.

Is there anyway to get USB Tethering to work without having to install the HTC Hero Sync under Windows XP. When I enable the USB Tethering feature on the phone, Windows tries to install the driver, but it can not. Is there a wiki/tutorial somewhere? Where can I get the software driver for USB tethering to work?

Thanks

yea ANY app that automatically changes the awllpaper still breaks the app or the phone. Cyanogen said it'll be fixed in the next update.

Cyanogen... BFS for 4.2.5??

Any chance of an optional BFS image for 4.2.5? I read the whole thread but I may have missed it. I know there was one for 4.2.4 but I'm not sure it is interchangeable like that.

Also, if one is released, I might suggest putting it in the first post. I know it was a pain in the ass trying to find the 4.2.4 image. Thanks

    Now that the dust has settled, it's time for a new CM build..

    This is a heavily modified version of AOSP 1.6 without the proprietary bits (which will back up your proprietary bits and restore them after installing the ROM). In order to get up and running the first time, you'll need to follow some simple instructions. A great set of documentation has been put together by the community at the CyanogenMod Wiki. Everything you need to know is there!

    But first..

    Code:
    #include <std_disclaimer.h>
    /*
     * Your warranty is now void.
     *
     * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
     * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
     * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
     * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
     * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
     */

    The Android devices we own come with many files that can't be redistributed legally, and as you all probably know, I can no longer include these with my ROMs. So, in order to get up and running, you'll need a compatible device with a compatible ROM.

    Installation Guide @ CyanogenMod Wiki:: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Main_Page#How_do_I_upgrade_to_the_latest_CyanogenMod.3F

    IF HTC Touch Input Force Closes: install file below =)

    * Based on Android 1.6, many bugfixes and enhancements from AOSP, XDA, and me

    * Enhanced ramdisk which uses optimal mount options and smart startup
    * Includes E2FSProgs for checking and converting Ext filesystems

    * Launcher with 5 screens and auto-orientation and compact drawer layout
    * 360 degree auto-orientation thanks to Optedoblivion

    Glad to hear you got it going ...... now drink a beer or sparkling water ..whatever your fancy

    That makes sense to me. But its a paid app so I don't think the author would post the apk on his site. But anyway, its just a Task manager. I can always use another one. Just that Advanced Task Manager worked best.

    But 4.2.3.1 worked beautifully except for that one app and for the fact that after installing 2-3 apps, I have to restart phone or I get the 'Installation Error' problem.
    You could wait for an update. My market let me install some of the protected apps I lost when I wiped my ext3 when there were updates (before that the buttons for open and uninstall were greyed out).

    HTC 1.6 Base images

    ...A.K.A HTC "Recovery images"

    Guys I know there are new links up and live, but I thought I might add a few more for convenience and diversity (uploaded to RS).
    I know the ADP one works for sure and is rooted.
    The Dream one is the one that's been floating around, and is also available here
