Try renaming/moving Phone.apk, then push Phone.apk from 3.6.8.1, and reboot. That fixed the caller id not showing up until i unlock screen thing for me.

didn't you post this in two other HERO threads? you probably messed something up going from HERO to Cyan or back n forth.

look at it and you'll see its diffrent cyanogen and hero have the same error its a lil diffrent thou and is there something wrong with me posting the errors in diffrent places to look for a solution? just trying to get this sorted out been dealing with this for weeks and its getting REALLYYYYYY annoying send a message to cyanogen and Drake days ago no answer back yet but when i use my sd card without a linux-swap its a 1 gig card it never freeze's on cyanogen so im just trying to figure this out im sure theres nothing wrong with that

This forum is for problems specific to Cyanogen's stable 4.0.4 rom, not for apps, or how-to and not for unrelated roms.

If you're new to the forum, the best place to start is at the beginning. You don't have to read every post but just consider that if you're new, quite a lot of your questions have already been asked and answered. A search, whether you use the forum's search or Google, will answer your question without duplicating a previously asked question.

My first response was snarky, and for that I apologize. But there are many of us who have been here for a while and get tired of seeing the same questions asked time and again or see questions that have no real bearing on the forum asked and just seem to be a sort of question spam, ask the question in every forum and hope one of them gets you an answer.

You don't want to search through forums with hundreds of posts, we understand. The problem is these forums are getting so large because the majority of those hundreds of posts are foolish, inappropriate, or duplicate questions.

Sorry about the rant folks, just had to get that off of my chest.

Is the 2nd splash screen considered the one that changed the ANDROID after the Tmobile screen when the phone is powered up? Since now it reads ANDROID in blue and circular arrows. Do I need to run that erase splash screen command or will it automatically go away when I follow the steps?

I can't do much typing since some of my keys are not working correctly on my keyboard.

Bluetooth Phonebook Transfers via SYNCH profile

Hi, I not been able to synchronize to, and access my phonebook from my car Bluetooth unit since I started using the ADP. I have done some research, and my issue (and maybe others') is that my bluetooth headset unit uses the following profile for Phonebook Transfer and sync:

1.26 Synchronisation Profile (SYNCH) , otherwise known as the PIM synchronization profile.

The Sony Ericsson HCB700 headset that I use, and many Parrot models with LCD displays and built-in phonebook Sync, use this. Some other users have noted that the Bluetooth PBAP/PBA profile is needed as well: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4604405#post4604405

These are not currently included in the Bluetooth stack of Cyanogen 4.0.4 ROM that I'm using, and probably not in the next official release of Android.

There is another thread where developers are working on OBEX, but it is not useful in my case.

Cyanogen, it would be great if you would look into incorporating both the SYNCH and PBAP/PBA Bluetooth profiles into the next release.... assuming you have time on top of all the great work you are doing....

"SD Card Removed" now market apps dead

I've been searching for a solution all over the place for this one but haven't had any luck.

This has happened a couple of times since flashing 4.0.4, and I have tried all the fixes I can find but none help me.

So here is what happens:

I flash 4.0.4, and then partition my SD card (Kingston 8GB class 4) with the sdparted script (I've tried but ext4 and ext2 with the same results). Next I flash the AeroBlack theme (I've also had the problem without the theme).

At this point everything seems to be working fine, and I start installing apps. Then for some reason, that I haven't been able to isolate yet, after a reboot it will pop up with the "SD Card Removed" message, yet I haven't touched the SD card. After that my apps are gone, but I am able to get them back normally with another reboot. I may have had to do a "repair ext" from the recovery console once or twice.

After I get the phone reading the SD card again, all of my apps reappear and are shown as installed in the market. However, when I try and run any of them, they will either force close or error out in some other way (i.e. pandora says it cannot connect and exits). fix_permissions doesn't help. If I uninstall/reinstall each app, they start working again, but that will be a cumbersome process if this continues to happen, plus I lose all of my app settings.

So I am at a loss for what else to try. I would really like to find a solution to this as I love how much better the mod works, but I've reflashed my phone several times a day over the past week trying to get to a stable load.

I had the same problem you guys did. My phone wouldn't even recognize it when it was partitioned. Only way it would is if i shut it down took it out inserted a different sdcard then tuned it back on unmounted it and then remounted the partioned one.

I finaly figued i did something wrong partitioning it so i tried reformatting it with phone but my my touch said it was bad. I formatted it via windows vista stuck it back in and phone said there was an error on it and asked if i wanted to format. I formatted it.. luckily the format took and DID NOT partition it again. Reinstalled all my apps and now i am able to mount and unmount without any problems. I went out and bought another 4gb sandisk sdcard this time a Class 6 and am going to repartition it and see if it works.

CyanogenMod just got shutdown and the ROMs got pulled. You need to find the ROM and put it in the root of your SD card. Hopefully you did a nandroid backup and can restore if you haven't put CM-Mod where it should be.

Lately we've been busy bees in Mountain View, as you can see from the recent release of Android 1.6 to the open-source tree, not to mention some devices we're working on with partners that we think you'll really like. Of course, the community isn't sitting around either, and we've been seeing some really cool and impressive things, such as the custom Android builds that are popular with many enthusiasts. Recently there's been some discussion about an exchange we had with the developer of one of those builds, and I've noticed some confusion around what is and isn't part of Android's open source code. I want to take a few moments to clear up some of those misconceptions, and explain how Google's apps for Android fit in.

Everyone knows that mobile is a big deal, but for a long time it was hard to be a mobile app developer. Competing interests and the slow pace of platform innovation made it hard to create innovative apps. For our part, Google offers a lot of services — such as Google Search, Google Maps, and so on — and we found delivering those services to users' phones to be a very frustrating experience. But we also found that we weren't alone, so we formed the Open Handset Alliance, a group of like-minded partners, and created Android to be the platform that we all wished we had. To encourage broad adoption, we arranged for Android to be open-source. Google also created and operates Android Market as a service for developers to distribute their apps to Android users. In other words, we created Android because the industry needed an injection of openness. Today, we're thrilled to see all the enthusiasm that developers, users, and others in the mobile industry have shown toward Android.

With a high-quality open platform in hand, we then returned to our goal of making our services available on users' phones. That's why we developed Android apps for many of our services like YouTube, Gmail, Google Voice, and so on. These apps are Google's way of benefiting from Android in the same way that any other developer can, but the apps are not part of the Android platform itself. We make some of these apps available to users of any Android-powered device via Android Market, and others are pre-installed on some phones through business deals. Either way, these apps aren't open source, and that's why they aren't included in the Android source code repository. Unauthorized distribution of this software harms us just like it would any other business, even if it's done with the best of intentions.

I hope that clears up some of the confusion around Google's apps for Android. We always love seeing novel uses of Android, including custom Android builds from developers who see a need. I look forward to seeing what comes next!
