I seem to be having a real odd issue for the past week when using the nightlies. I can't send a text larger than the standard....160?...characters. It lets me keep typing but the words do not show up beyond that threshold. I've looked into the setting to see if an option was checked to only allow one text to be sent at a time, but it doesn't appear that way. Even in an MMS group chat, it cuts off after the 160 character count. And this only started after I did a clean install about a week ago with the 2/4 nightly.

Any idea what I did wrong? I've gone through the Language and Input settings as well and nothing. I use the Google Voice keyboard, if that changes anything, but I'd been using that before the clean wipe as well and didn't have these problems.

Hey everybody. We're working on a unified d2 build which means the same zip can be flashed on multiple d2 devices.
The supported devices are:

d2att
d2cri
d2mtr
d2spr
d2tmo
d2usc
d2vzw - already tested

If you are willing to test this build for your d2spr it would be very much appreciated.
Please PM me if you are willing to test and I'll get you a link to the build.

Thanks!
Can't PM from my phone but I am certainly willing to test

Just heard back that the unified build is working. Thanks @montecarlo5 for testing out the build.
@kalico17 here is the link for the unified test build if you want to try it out.

Gummy-M.1-02-10-14-UNOFFICIAL-d2.zip

This was built this morning and will be almost the same as last nights nightly. The real goal was to test the ability for this to be flashed on all of the Galaxy S3.

The first unified d2 nightly is build you can grab it here:
http://androidhosting.org/Devs/Gummy/d2/nightly/

There will be no more carrier specific builds. This d2 build will work on d2att, d2cri, d2mtr, d2spi, d2spr, d2tmo, d2usc, and d2vzw.

FYI there is a d2att build in the d2 directory make sure you download the d2 zip.

Woke up to my phone barely charging and hot as hell so i had to switch to a new rom (using octo before, not trying to knock it, but hey phone explosive is a good reason to switch..) been running the unified for about a day, one reboot, not sure what caused it. just installed lean a few minutes ago, see how it plays out tomorrow.

________________

also i used the unified lean kernal that the dev just put up. i flashed it and the phone basically pooped on me, luckily i wasnt lazy and made a backup. just use the d2spr one under the directory.

Thanks for the suggestion! but i found out how to change fonts with font changer lite. i just have to open root explorer and head to system and make sure it is mounted as r/w and not r/o then change font to what i want.

Its been alright. No complaint. Can't record front video with snapchat. Usual. Let you know if there's a reboot or anything real concerning.

Anyone know if Wi-Fi tether works on this nightly?

Gummy-M.1-02-19-14-NIGHTLY-d2lte.zip
203.5 MB

Edit: Just did a clean install and could not get wifi-tether to work. Went back to my 12/24 gummy nightly.

call recorder - the system must be mounted as read/write

i have just installed this rom: Gummy-M1.2-04-07-14-NIGHTLY-i9300 on my international gt-i9300.

i have installed call recorder by skvalex v1.3.1 but i can't get it to work as i get this message "the system must be mounted as read/write". can anyone tell me how i mount it as read/write.

i did have the imperium rom installed before gummy rom and call recorder worked ok on that rom

Can't flash to a new ROM

Been using Gummy for a while now and I want to try something else out. For whatever reason I can't seem to flash to anything else. Factory reset just defaults to Gummy, and CWM can't install basic ROMs like CM11. Anyone else have this experience? I can't seem to figure it out.

Details: I read somewhere that for the Sprint GS3 we have to use the latest version of CWM in order to flash to CM 11, so I tried that but all I get is an annoying failure in recovery. I can install the GAPPS just fine but the ROM won't take for whatever reason. I even tried using the new Cyanogenmod desktop installer application. All went well except for at the very end when it tried to reboot. It gets hung up warning me that I may have lost root access. I select the option manually to apply the fix or whatever but it doesn't do anything and the phone just boots up into Gummy again. Am I going crazy?

Thanks,

adam

I use Philz and can install whatever ROM I want no problems. Are you flashing kernels as well? You have to flash a kernel from 6/1 or newer to work with the newer ROMs. Anything built before 6/1 WILL NOT work with anything built after 6/1 and vice-versa. Same with GApps as far as I'm aware. And I think (don't quote me on this though) you need ND8 modem as well. Try all those 'n see what happens.

Just FYI, if you want to know the answer to this just open the zip and navigate to META-INF/com/google/android and extract updater-script. Open that in a text viewer and the first lines should have an assert. For this ROM it says:

assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "d2att" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "d2att" ||
getprop("ro.product.device") == "d2spr" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "d2spr" ||
getprop("ro.product.device") == "d2spi" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "d2spi" ||
getprop("ro.product.device") == "d2tfnspr" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "d2tfnspr" ||
getprop("ro.product.device") == "d2tmo" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "d2tmo" ||
getprop("ro.product.device") == "d2cri" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "d2cri" ||
getprop("ro.product.device") == "d2mtr" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "d2mtr" ||
getprop("ro.product.device") == "d2usc" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "d2usc" ||
getprop("ro.product.device") == "d2vmu" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "d2vmu" ||
getprop("ro.product.device") == "d2vzw" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "d2vzw" ||
getprop("ro.product.device") == "d2lte" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "d2lte" || abort("This package is for \"d2att,d2spr,d2spi,d2tfnspr,d2tmo,d2cri,d2mtr,d2usc,d2vmu,d2vzw,d2lte\" devices; this is a \"" + getprop("ro.product.device") + "\"."););
Meaning no specific bootloader or modem is necessary. You just need to have one of the phones listed. :thumbup:

stable not so stable?

Tried to install Gummy-M3.0-07-16-14-RELEASE-d2lte.
I get to the boot animation and it sits there forever. followed previous suggestions about pulling battery, reformatting user data. results in a partial reboot until it freezes up completely. reboot again and it starts to update user apps and then freezes on language selection. pull battery again, and then at language selection I get a constant app crash message after message.

back to recovery, format /system format user data, format dalvik.

basically we are back to staring at the Gummy boot animation endlessly.
