I am in 2.5, can i install v3 just wiping cache and dalvik?

You can try, but I recommend you go through all the apps I mentioned in the change log and in Settings go to Apps and then for each one of those uninstall updates so they are the original ones on system.

Flashed v3, working great but I cant get serajr home to work, it keeps fc. Tried 1.5 and 1.4

Which apps are they,I'm using existenz as you know and happy with my setup so don't want to reinstall everything again

When system apps are updated the original apk stays on the system partition and the new version is in the same place on data as the user apps. I just updated all the apks in the system partition to the latest version so now they won't be on system partition and data partition if you get what I mean.

It's not just a cut and paste job as some of the apps need .lib files to work properly so you need to get them too.

If I removed all the apps from data would this affect anything

OK, I have a problem. I flashed v3 and stock lockscreen addon, and don't have 4 tiles in in quick settings... Also my settings are still with cards :/

Edit: Ok, flashed again without addon, now I have 4 tiles in row, but settings are still with card view.

I never said I removed cards. Decided to keep it for now.
If you actually hate it you can just replace the Settings.apk in system with either the stock Z3 or Stock X one. You just won't have the fragment modules section anymore. Also you'll probably end up with Smart cleaner again.

Yeah that's because it's done by modding system UI and flashing the Z3 system UI removes it because that mod isn't in the Z3 system UI. I will add it some time today and reupload. Just use the X UI that's included for now or wait a bit for 4 tiles Z3

Installed as user or system app?

That's weird it should be 1.1.5 for the latest home I included and working as normal here.
Try it as a user app if you didn't already

Try experimenting. Getting hands on is the best way.

Make a backup and then mess with apps that aren't important.
Then youll learn how the file system works. That's how I did it

You don't remove any apps from folders.

Put the new version of the app into its folder in system/app or system/priv-app

Then go to settings - apps and for the apps you moved to system you can tap the three dots in the top right and press "uninstall updates"

Reboot and you should have the latest version of the app as part of the ROM in system and it won't be taking up space in data.

Sorry misunderstood at first.

You need to download the new version for like apk mirror or directly from play. Don't use the one installed to data partition because when installed there apks get odexed and you need it in it's pure form.

Where are you at now?

Replaced the .apks in Sysgtem/app and /priv-app with the new ones?
Set the permissions to RW-R-R and make sure the owner and group are root

Then reboot
