shouldnt effect anything, but if it really bothers you try reinstalling the drivers manually an pick out the correct device from the driver list? usually if you go manual you are given a list of devices to pick from

Thanks for the input and nah it doesn't really bother me but if it's easy to fix it then I guess I'll do it. Sorry for the hassle but how do you reinstall the drivers manually ?
Windows 7. You mean I should go on Motorola's website and redownload the drivers ?
EDIT: I did and I still get ME525+ but it doesn't matter, as you say it's not affecting anything on the device or the computer but thank you very much for helping me out

ah, i just had a look and it seems the way to fix this is edit the firmware/phone, as when you try to pick the drivers it doesnt let you select a model from the list rather ME525 is being sent by the phone itself!

yep i've had it running on mine for ages. you dont need batd or anything if its std defy, just install it as is and you're done. if its green lens then you need to add all the extras green lens stuff, if not you dont!
edit: the only patch ive got is the new 720p/panorama fix, but you dont actually need it to work. i added it only because the little panorama helper icon is missing on this rom and this patch brings it back

thnx. so i have to follow all the steps for SOC.! could u tell how is this better than other rom basically i need good animation stuff and battery improvement . right now i am on agen2stone by walter.!
its the best ROM I've used yet, so far i have used
std 2.1 UK as supplied by moto

on this one everything works as it should, and the battery life is the best yet! the ms2 ginger I gave up on due to all the bugs from the china base, call id missmatch, random chinese characters in some areas etc. I think the newest releases are better though but this one works perfect for me so I'm not going to mess with it!
if you look earlier in the thread I mentioned the battery life, iI regularly get more than 3 days usage out of the battery, just as long as I dont do lots of 3D gaming. I still play a bit of inotia3 (while I wait for my wife to get out of work) but not a great deal. I go on facebook for a bit in the eventing/lunch over my wireless, but i dont use the 3g so much

After installing the 1% battery fix and the 720p+panorama fix im very happy with this ROM. It does what it supposed to do and it is not based on a China or Taiwan ROM.
Would like 2 see more ROMS that are based on European ROM's and not Chinese or Taiwanese as a base ROM.
Will stick with this ROM for a while now until something better comes along with 720p recording and Panorama and a good battery life.

And there is no killing LED problem like in Chinese version...One hour ago my Search LED stoped working on MS2Ginger2.0 after 4 days of use.
I used this ROM for a week and battery was awe-some...3 days moderate use...I even installed CMIUI over this ROM and had great battery life also.
And since I leave in Europe, not Asia, this is better ROM to have I suppose

This rom would be perfect if someone could port init.d from CM7 to control brightness buttons, because some people damaged their buttons with roms like this with very bright buttons...

Cant get SetVsel to work on this ROM ..all that happens when i click on it is it just reboots after a 5-6 sec freeze ..Anyone have this problem ?
Quite agree. Much better battery life on my Defy than stock UK Froyo.
Again, I agree. I thought that Walter said that he was going to use this ROM as the base for the new version of MS2Ginger, but when I tried that the Chinese-ness was still there. I'm disappointed that Walter gave up support for this ROM, which works well*, in favour of MS2Ginger which IMO doesn't. Still, I suppose since it does actually work, we don't really need much support!
I might try CM7 at some point, since it now has an official port to the Defy, but it would need to be pretty darned good to replace this one as my ROM of choice.
* Actually now I think of it there is one little oddity: whenever the Market notifies me that there are updates available, the number of updates shown in the notification is always one more than is listed when I open the Market. It's so far from being a showstopper that I barely notice it.

Enable overclock + load all modul in bootmenu.
MS2Ginger did not use this rom as base because you can' t use blur social apps without bluraccount. Over 6000 downloads/installs of MS2Ginger2.0 and Lite 2.0 and only two persons reported about the button light problems.
The button's light problem is a hadware defect imho. Anyway...this rome is really better than the chinese ones. We can live with the blur account (i like it personally).
Its just my opinion.
