You people that are still using this pile of sh*t and not the JPC build should reconsider your rom choice.

I mean he's completely right but didn't have to say it that way.

Also, the fact that someone wants ota updates via cm updater is just plain old stupid and lazy

Maybe some of us have families, jobs, and/or lives that prevent us from spending valuable free time on a computer manually entering commands to a phone hooked up to a computer, when OTA wireless zero-effort methods have been already been perfected.

Maybe some people don't like things you like., and vice versa.

The slick OTA updates don't mean much when the phone bootloops and crashes all the time.

The work it takes to get on JPC's build is minimal and the rewards of having a STABLE CM11 build outweighs any amount of convenience the CM11 OTA updates bring to the table. Until CM updates to 24A, vanilla CM11 will continue to be a nice idea that has turd-like execution.

i couldnt agree with this more^

and now there isnt even alot of work to get JPC's build up and running because theres the one click root and recovery option in the VZW G2 Dev Thread too. I got a replacement phone from verizon and within an hour i had it up and running exactly like my original

You don't have to connect to a computer. Just go to thread via tapatalk app (or whatever you use), download the build and gapps, reboot and install. Just as easy as an OTA and takes maybe 1 minute longer (if that). No need to over exaggerate something that isn't that hard to do.

My phone hasn't been connected to a computer since the day or was rooted. I use the xda app, download rom from the appropriate thread, and flash away. It takes maybe five minutes and you are left with a device that fully functions. All the steps in the op are not needed. With about thirty minutes of free time you can have your phone running the kitkat partitions and modem.

Yes. If you are running this rom you are still on 11a or 12b. You need to read XDABBEB's thread and follow his instructions to get to 24a with custom recovery. It is very easy to understand. You only have to flash a couple zips and install his rom, then get a gps lock. After that you download JPC's build, do a full wipe, then flash. You won't be disappointed.

There's an even easier way now. Thru Windows you just run a batch script and boom

KITKAT 24A OTA FREEDOM

Installs custom recovery TWRP 2.7 on KK 24a update to be able to flash Roms. Also mods partitions to enable twrp to run.

Special thanks to JackpotClavin. He made this possible.

Step 1: Use iroot25 to root 24a Kikat

Step 2: Use MD5 checker to match MD5. If it does not match, DO NOT RUN. YOU WILL BRICK.

Step 3: Unzip KitKat Freedom zip and run from Windows.

RUN AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Stevo I'm good with getting to 24A. I'm in a poor signal area and from what I have read KK in general sucks for signal that's why I'm still on JB. Even my Moto X lost some bars on KK but still seems OK now I here even it is suffering from 4.4.4. Any thoughts?

i live in central NJ and work in NYC. I havent really noticed any degradation in signal quality in my area, though i'm in a very major metropolitan area. The one thing that pisses me off though is that my train line has like no signal for most of it. My dad has an S3 with 4.2 and has the same trouble I do on the train.

Yes most people are aware of freedom or autorec. I thought you were talking about a new way to get to 24a with root and recovery. None of these methods apply to this guy because he is already rooted on older firmware. That being the case, flashing two zips from XDABBEB's thread is a much easier method than going back to stock and using the method you mentioned.

Anyone else notice that the builds started again? I tried flashing but kept boot looping, must still be based on 12A. Wonder if it is being supported again.

This thread is for discussion of the nightlies only from http://www.get.cm

A good place to discuss in real-time is IRC at channel #lg-g2 on freenode

Google+ is preferred but I will cross post to twitter as well.

    Known issues:
-While LG's knock on feature works, knock off does not work yet.(A simple work around is go to the settings and add a "go to sleep" quick settings tile)

    Installation:
Instructions will be up soon at http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org
Must have CWM or TWRP 2.6.3.3 or newer already installed
If flashing from a LG based rom then you must wipe the /data

seems like there hasnt been too much development recently for this rom on this device. there is the G2 xposed module that enables the double tap of the status bar, but it makes the status bar buggy all together

...I'm not going to implement it in 4.3. Work is primarily moving to 4.4.

I posted over in the cm site forums about our issues and possible lack of a maintainer. Cm team member @ciwrl responded that he would be looking into it. I also noted @JackpotClavin's work and the major breakthroughs he has accomplished. This is at least a step forward.

I tried the 11/26 CM11 unofficial nightly and had some stability issues (most likely due to the kernel legacy code Dalingrin referenced). When running certain games such as Epoch or Injustice (Unreal engine may be a specific factor), the audio will begin to glitch during play, and eventually the program freezes, but does not force close. you can actually switch programs, or go home, return to the game and it will still be frozen. I noticed similar issues running the Gummy preview.

Not griping, I understand that things are still Alpha, but I haven't seen anyone post these specific issues. Thanks for all the hard work Dalingrin (fan from the HP TP days).

Yes, it could be the legacy code.
Keep in mind that I posted the CM11 build as just a preview. I suspect most folks will want to wait until we get rid of the legacy code and also wait until more features are merged into CM11. Once we update the kernel, quite a lot of behind the scenes code will also change with it. So, the issue you ran into might be fixed along the way.
