I went back to 12A to play for the last 5 days and only had 1 SOD on 9/18 and none since. Only issue I am having is with the proximity sensor working erratically. It doesn't shut the screen off when I put the phone up to my head in a call, and I use AcDisplay and sometimes it turns the screen on when laying out as if it thinks I am pulling it out of my pocket, just seems the sensor is a little out of calibration. My GPS has been fine and I have been getting really fast locks. You may need to go back to a stock based rom to get a gps lock and then reflash CM11, that or try one of the GPS apps that forces a lock.
As a side note @savoca has made a really rockin kernel for CM11, I have been consistently getting 2.5 - 3.0 hours on screen time 14-16 hrs off charge and roughly 30-40% battery left. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2572992

How does it run compared to JC's cm12? I've found that cm roms have a bit more lag within the ui compared to aosp based roms, like euphoria os. I'm currently on that and it is much smoother because of ita aosp base
We don't have aosp. All ROMs we have are cm base except slim, and maybe aod
Well maybe not full aosp roms, but the ones labelled as aosp are probably 90% aosp. A while back there was plain Andy which was mostly aosp, it ran well. Euphoria os is mostly aosp and it runs better than any other cm ROM I've tried. There definitely is a difference
That's because back when snuzzo made plain Andy, we had aokp. Aokp is now dead, so all ROMs we have need to use cm as a base with us being a legacy device.
Or they could use aod or slim, but all choose cm
Edit: new full caf kernel is really fast. Won't be long now before everyone is using it.

People have started to use it unofficially, even though rashed doesn't think its ready......
But yeah, once its merged, every ROM will be updated to 5.0 kernel base finally.
Rashed is the one handling this phone in general. All variants.
No more maintainer for each variant.
I was under the impression that the cm12 nightly was 12b bootstack, good for me i am on 12b from cm11. Never got off of CM :/
Official night lies are will based off the 4.2 kernel base as far as I know. Don't think rashed pushed the new kernel yet.
So what would the process be for someone to upgrade from official cm11 to official cm12

Known issues:
-While LG's knock on feature works, knock off does not work yet.(A simple work around is go to the settings and add a "go to sleep" quick settings tile)

I also noted @JackpotClavin's work and the major breakthroughs he has accomplished. This is at least a step forward.

Yes, it could be the legacy code.
Keep in mind that I posted the CM11 build as just a preview. I suspect most folks will want to wait until we get rid of the legacy code and also wait until more features are merged into CM11. Once we update the kernel, quite a lot of behind the scenes code will also change with it. So, the issue you ran into might be fixed along the way.
