You need a full wipe before flash this rom.

Full wipe means all (cache data system). But on the forum it is advised only to wipe data not the system. Wiping the system doesn't install at all. Thanks for your quick reply. But I want to know what was your firmware and where did you get it from?!?

Installation Instructions: Mipad 4 Wifi & Mipad 4 LTE
• - Make sure your bootloader is unlocked!

• - Boot to fastboot mode
• - Run twrp-installer.exe in folder , tool automatic boot in TWRP
- Wipe/ Format data and Reboot in to Recovery TWRP again
- Mount all the possible partitions
- Wipe your data,cache,Internal storage,dalvik DONT WIPE SYSTEM OR YOU WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE
- Using MTP or OTG copy the xiaomi.eu rom to your device
- Flash the xiaomi.eu_multi_MIPAD4_8.9.6_v10-8.1 rom
- Wipe cache and dalvik
- Reboot

Did you flash it over stock rom that has only two languages (Chinese and English). Or you might be running on a custom miui rom before flashing this rom. Just a confusion. I am running on the stock as imported from china and I want to know if EU models too run on the same stock rom.

Can anybody confirm if Family Link (for children and teens - com.google.android.apps.kids.familylinkhelper) can finish setup process and is working with a child account on Mi Pad 4 EU ROM?

@mr_hanse Nope, you need to wipe system because i swear you're coming from miui china...and china rom is different from a custom rom. Don't worry

my mi pad 4 is brought from alie express and it came with mokee pre installed....does it mean bootloader is unlocked??? don mind if the question is noob one?......and i encountered a problem after a month,my mi pad 4 doesnt unluck with power button pressed ..i alwys need to switch it off and then on it to unlock....and after switiching on it says syatem error,SELinux error etc....m so much irritated...i want to flash the miui eu rom....help me guys!!!!

Your boorloader is unlocked if mockee rom is installed. Just flash xiaomi.eu rom and enjoy!

There has to be a way to unlock the bootloader without waiting 720h.. This is so dumb to go through all the trouble to install google play store and then have to completely wipe the device 30 days later just to flash global version after..

Hi all,

Flashed my mipad 4 with this xiaomi.eu rom and I found it very convenient until I found a bug regarding AV encoder and decoder.
This xiaomi.eu 8.9.20 rom can't even play its own .ogg format notification/alarm/system sound hence you wont hear any click or any sound from system. Video decoder also has some error. While MX player can play any video with HW+ decoder this tablet will fail to play any video with HW decoder. This also causing slow camera app start up. Camera will open up eventually and still can capture image and record video but it takes a while. And also you will find "can't play this video" splash error message in full display gesture setting page.

Does anyone also get this error? I got no account in xiaomi.eu forum so I can't give them notice.

Sorry to hear that, but it's on your side - mine works great and all sounds as it should. Possibly reinstall and make sure that the downloaded image is correct?

False alarm, it was great after another reboot, hw decoder works great. Didn't count how many restart to repel the bug tho, installed magisk and some tweaks sure more than 2x reboot.

There is no GLOBAL. Just a trasnlated ROM from xiaomi.eu which is based on Chinese Version.

Currently there is no way to bypass the 720hour unlock.
@kukalikuk: Always test new ROMs without any modifications if it works or not.. Your "problems" could also result from bad magisk modules, etc. At least it was gone, after the reboot.. Only 60hours to wait for unlocking..

I got the 8.9.20 ROm installed but the themeing app and several other things are missing

i have a feeling xiaomi.eu is really going downhill with there rom quallity.
Redmi6 dosnt work at all - mix 2 stable! upgrades brik the phone and require data format etc ...

does anyone know how i can get back theming ?

Where do you live/region? In Europe you don t have the Themes app anymore. Regardless if original MIUI oder xiaomi.eu.

Could not complain about anything.. Nothing is laggy. Can run 2x Pokemon GO (dual apps) with xiaomi.eu. Browser is also fast.. (maybe you didnt make a clean install?)
