That's all good and gravy, but recommending users to do something that will make them lose official support from us is ill-advised.

Gapps link works fine. You're doing something wrong.
Don't need to do that either. It's not rocket science, people.
It was pretty good. But it lacks some features I was expecting like LED notification control and per-app heads-up customizations.
This is just our initial release of Lollipop. There will be more to come in the future. Granted, I won't tell you what or when exactly that is.

I've been using DU for years now on multiple devices but I'm running into an issue. After I wipe and install rom then go to boot up, the boot up just doesn't end. it shows the animation just fine but it just sits their rotating forever and never gets to setup screen. It's been doing this for 20+mins. I wiped cache again, try rebooting but I get the same result. It's like the spinning wheel of death

This has only happened to those that are using MultiROM. Re-download the ROM and perform the installation instructions in the OP.
Updated OP to include another gapps pkg that you folks can use.

Not yet. As this is our initial Lollipop official release - there is still plenty to come down the road.
Sat on the kit kat DU waiting for this, now to see what lollipop brings
