Hi i saw in los updater los version 17, can i install it from there or should i delete cache and data and only then install rom with gapps ?
Thanks again for the amazing work !!

i tested 17.1 and i think 16.0 is better for now.
after many updates for 16.0 . it is very stable.
i hope after 1 month with new updates i can change from 16.0 to 17.1 ..

I'd recommend a clean install and also use the latest TRWP release 3.3.1-3.
https://github.com/CaptainThrowback/android_device_htc_m8/releases

I use 17.1 with opengapps in the micro version with the pixel launcher which is included in the micro set.
It's stable for my daily use. Wifi, BT tapping, all fine and fast.

In the end it's your decision.

I use Google photos and it works fine.
I believe that the Galerie app or better, the path problem will be fixed soon.

Hello friend, there was i did for modify the kernel :
1. Check table name
cat /sys/module/clock_krait_8974/parameters/table_name
it show me :
qcom,speed1-pvs10-bin-v1
For your reference, you can search from google this file : msm8974pro.dtsi
2. Prepare your boot.img,
you can find in installer from Lineage OS 16
3. Open boot.img with hex editor ( I use bless hex editor in ubuntu linux to modify this)
4. Find " qcom,speed1-pvs10-bin-v1 " in TEXT / ASCII mode. ( i found 15 )
5. Replace all text that you found with text "DUMMY" or whatever you want
6. Then find again TEXT "qcom,speed3-pvs10-bin-v1" replace with TEXT "qcom,speed1-pvs10-bin-v1"
7. Then find TEXT "DUMMY" and replace with text "qcom,speed3-pvs10-bin-v1"
8. save your modify to new-boot.img
9. reboot to twrp recovery
10. Install your lineage os 16.
11. wipe cache and dalvik cache
12. install new-boot.img
13. wipe cache and dalvik cache
14. reboot to system

I do all of it at clean install and works like charm.
I try anothe PVS, but "qcom,speed3-pvs10-bin-v1" is the fastest and stable.

Is USB connection works. If it doesn't, just replace your USB port and it should be fine

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 9 (Pie), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Base source code is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to the project, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.

    Installation:
    • Reboot to recovery (TWRP by @Captain_Throwback) - Direct link
    • Wipe /system, /data and /cache
    • Install LineageOS zip package
    • Install [optional] the LineageOS su addon to get root (there are obviously other root methods, but this is the recommended one as it survives to OTA updates)

This month's builds are up (for both single and dual SIM variants) with ASB already merged and one long-time issue fixed... screen rotation now works properly. :victory: Enjoy.

New builds are up, for both single and dual SIM variants. System resizing in TWRP is no longer needed and external sdcards support should be fixed by now.

Keep in mind that this is still beta. There are some missing feature left to port.
