[ROM][DISCONTINUED] LineageOS 18.1 for Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S

I have LOS 18 with TWRP and I want to root without loosing my data. How can I do this?

Let's hope at least till Android 13. This is not a very old phone tbh. Although I am not sure if all the things will work perfectly with Android 13 as it does with Android 11 now.

Great ROM. Using it as daily driver. But there has been a long delay since last official weekly update. Will this be continued or dev has decided to move next update to Android 12?

Today lineage-18.1-20211217-nightly-polaris-signed.zip became available: https://download.lineageos.org/polaris

I think the build from last week is missing because of a compilation error, which was fixed several days ago: https://review.lineageos.org/c/LineageOS/android_device_xiaomi_sdm845-common/+/320415/

Yes I noticed the update from my phone and updated straightaway. Did OTA update because I have lineage os recovery. Everything went smoothly.

Good rom, good battery life, only one problem encountered - NFC mifare tag (aka troika transport card) not working in apps, looks like similar problem to this patch on another xiaomi phone with NXP

@bgcngm , about NFC Mifare problem - possibly have found a solution, Mifare working in PE, maybe this configs help in LOS too, seems similar to commit in ArrowOS

Just updated my phone with the latest version (lineage-18.1-20220107), unfortunately the brightness bug is still there.
Compared to MIUI 12 it uses 1GB less of disk space!

Though I have this annoying bar at the very bottom of my screen, under the keyboard: does anyone know how to hide it?

Hi,
Until now, I had an 18.1 version from august or september that worked fine, and I decided to update today to the latest version via the integrated updater and now my phone doesn't boot (lineageOS loading animation shows up for like 10 seconds and then phone reboots to TWRP).

Am I supposed to update something else apart from the system?

I have tried manually installing (via TWRP "install") the latest update (20220107) and the previous update (20211231) and I still get the same issue...

UPDATE:
Okay so it turns out that I had to reinstall gapps after the update which is very weird to me as it didn't seem to be required, but doing it has completely fixed my problem. So if anyone is having this same issue, simply install the updated lineage OS zip and then install the gapps zip that you need.

I have a problem with reading MIFARE Plus X NFC cards. Phone can't read a transport card for Moscow - Troyka. App can't read this card. I don't have this problem on stock firmware.

Just a year ago when I used two SIMs simultaneously on my Mi Mix 2S I suffered random disconnections, forcing me to disable data from one SIM or the other in order to get data access back, now that I just come back to dual SIM It's happening again. I feel that this sometimes happens when turning WiFi on.

What do you think that can be the problem here, SW or HW @bgcngm ? If SW how can I help debugging these networking issues?

Do I before that have to care about to intall a new / current baseband version (if there is any) and / or a new, current firmware? I've attached a screenshot of my device info.
