Settings > Candy interface > Navigation > Buttons, long press the button you want to assign, and choose "Screen off" from the list. .

I didn't have a "button" menu into "Navigation". I just have "Candy Pie Control" and "Navigation Bar". None of those have a button remap..
And into Candy Interface Menu the "Buttons" menu is just for the volume rocker

Thanks in advance

So here's the part where I remind you to post the build type you're on... CMTE or OMS. I'm running the latter...

EDIT: Probably under "Navigation bar"

Amazon Music App stucks!

Hi,

I have a problem with the Amazon Music App. Everytime i work with it, listen to music, open and close it some times, the rom is getting very slow and then it stucks and i can only make a reboot by pressing the power and the - buttons.

Please could you fix that? Would be so nice! :) ...and by the way, whats the difference between CMTE and OMS? And what is a clean flash?? I Know i'm a newbe but maybe you find some time to explain me this things.

Thanks a lot, also again for your great work.

I don't use the Amazon music app, but please listen carefully...

You should take some time to educate yourself about CMTE and OMS. They are different types of theming engines, and not compatible with one another.

CMTE = CM theme engine
OMS = Overlay Manager Service (next generation of Layers)

So if you are on one type you must stay on that type, or clean flash if you want to switch.

Clean flashing means wiping /dalvik, /cache, /system and /data partitions before flashing.

As for help, I've asked for three things, build type (theming engine), steps needed to reproduce the problem, and logs of the failure. Without these, you are on your own, mate(ette).

As far as noob questions, I myself was a noob at one time. Read, read, and re-read as needed... It's the only way to de-noob yourself! :p

Cheers!

Nexus Dialer App Question

I wanted to use the Google Phone app(dialer) from the Playstore because it had the caller id option. I disabled the Phone app that came with the Rom and installed the Google Dialer from the Playstore. When I make calls with the app from play store, it will make the call, but I can't ever get back to the Dialer app- can't even disconnect the call. Didn't know if there was a workaround to add the app from the Playstore. I'm using AOSP version, 8/17 build. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Also, sorry if I left anything out.

*****Disregard - setting as default phone app solved the problem*******

gesture typing fix

Really nice ROM, candy continues to have my favorite mix of features.

It took me a couple hours to figure out how to enable gesture typing with the AOSP keyboard, so I thought I'd share the solution. I simply installed EnhancedIME keyboard from http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/enhancedime-aosp-latinime-enhancements-t3366639

I wasn't able to fix it manually with replacing /system/lib/libjni_latinime.so from Swipe_libs.zip from the same thread. Installing the apk was the easiest way to get it all working.

Which kernel type does this ROM use? CAF or "normal"? i.e. Can this use Elemental X or Franco or is it one of the CAF ROMS. TWRP seemed to need non-caf version so guessing former. Looks very interesting. Just flashed coming from Dark ROM since I couldn't get Mock GPS to work properly on that with my Bluetooth GPS dongle. Thanks!

EDIT: Thanks for keeping the stock bootanimation. I can't even tell you how many times something as insingificant as that has put me off with a "custom" one. Phew!

Non CAF kernels ElementalX works fine with this ROM.

So I'm coming from Dark ROM which is a CM CAF based ROM. I flashed the latest TWRP (non CAF) and did a complete wipe of everything, including data.

Then I downloaded the latest version of this ROM (CandySiX-hammerhead-3.2-OFFICIAL-0903.zip) and Banks Gapps. Rebooted recovery after formatting everything. Flash ROM then Gapps in that order. Reboot and waited for bootanimation to finish (saw notice about minutes to let it boot). About 30 mins later still not booted. Re-wiped, re-downloaded ROM, flashed again with Opengapps. Wait for bootanimation to finish. Doesn't finish.

So I'm wondering - would it be worth the time to re-flash totally stock Google images so that the partition sizes are "restored" - it's the only thing I can think of other than the ROM being the issue that might fix the problem. Are the partition sizes anything to do with this possibly? Or any other ideas/advice? Thanks

EDIT: Yes, seems like flashing Google Stock image and then flashing this works now. Just booted! Thanks!

EDIT 2: So booted and now getting consistent crashes and rebooting when trying to restore apps frem previous device (same device just want same apps) during setup process. With Banks Gapps, phone suddenly restarts, with OpenGapps, get a notice saying Google Play Services crash.

Hey @NoSpamDan, I am still trying to build your ROM from source and now the build was successful. The strange thing is, that in the output folder under system/vendor there aren't all necessary vendor files. I synced the proprietary files from TheMupptets for hammerhead but something is going wrong there. Does it make a difference if I directly sync from the CandyDevices repo?

Vendor/lge is the right path for the proprietary files right?

Well, sort of. The Mupptets don't exist (TheMuppets does), and actually, although not everyone uses it, TheMuppers are the Candy Vendor organization, and where I've pushed the vendor_lge repo...

    https://github.com/CandyDevices/device_lge_hammerhead/blob/c6/BoardConfig.mk#L146
Is where it's looking for vendor files... and probably will indicate to you what your issue is (note: vendor/lge/hammerhead).

Well, it was a good run, folks. I tried to update the latest security patches for this in early December, but I had issues requiring too much of my time.

I am basically not active in Candy6 development any more and given my current work on Slim6 and Slim7 right now, I have to prioritize. I do have a wife and kids, and a full-time+ job, after all. :D

I am sad to announce that this ROM is hereby officially DISCONTINUED.

This thread will remain open for friendly discussion, but I may close it at my discretion.

New build is up in Post #2

OK, here it is, a long-awaited update... you guys are gonna LIKE this one... ;)

And... you guessed it... You MUST clean flash (wipe /data) if coming from ANY previous version!

Well, maybe you didn't guess that, but if you do not wipe /data you will likely face issues with battery drain, FCs, and your phone might eat your cat. :silly:

      New features:
      • CandySiX Version 3.0
      • New SmartBar customizable softkey navigation
      • Fling navigation (optional)
      • Pulse NavBar music visualizer
      • Lock screen music visualizations
      • Screenshot Crop & Share
      • Fully Charged notification with toggle
      • CPU information overlay (enable in Developer options)
      • Fixed Theme Tile functionality
      • More... :p

Clean flash, clean flash, clean flash...

      Enjoy!

For those of you who don't know me, I've been around the SGSII forums for a long time. Been a OnePlus and Hammerhead owner for over a year, but never built for the latter... until now. :D

I am looking for 2-3 good testers to help iron out new releases and bugs, and who can flash sometimes more than one build a day to help test fixes. Please PM me in the next 24 hours if you are interested and can commit to helping.

Looking forward to the Candy goodness!
