Installation does not work.
beyond2lte, following the instructions in the first post produces the following error after sideloading ROM:

Denying OTA because it's a SPL downgrade

After that the device goes into a boot loop.
Searching the forum found the explanation that it happens because recovery is newer than the ROM. Current versions are the following:

lineage-19.1-20221005-recovery-beyond2lte.img
crDroidAndroid-12.1-20220717-beyond2lte-v8.7.zip

Is there a trick to avoid this?
how could you do it?

The problem is not due to the official Samsung firmware you come from.

It must be OneUI 4.0 but you can come from G970FXXSGHVI1 or G970FXXSGHVH2 or G970FXXUFHVG4 (which was released beginning of July.... so before CrDroid 8.7 for S10x), you will anyway get this error message during flashing.

The problem is that 'LineageOs recovery' is newer than 'CRDroid 8.7'.

At the link below, all 'LineageOs recovery' are too recent for 'CrDroid 8.7'
https://download.lineageos.org/beyond0lte

Unfortunately they don't propose anymore for download old 'LineageOS recovery'.

2 possibilities to solve this issue
- Find an old enough 'LineageOs recovery' (i don't know where. If someone can upload an old image of LineageOs recovery released before the 17th of July... it would be nice)
- Wait for the next version of CrDroid (in the meantime you can use LineageOs but well disable the automatic update of LineageOs recovery)

As said Elton, "Sorry seems to be the hardest word"
I'm already on a "too recent" LOS recovery. How can I downgrade it? I've been reading somewhere -though I'm not sure I got it right- that it's not possible to flash any other recovery over the LOS one, only update it.

@Orel6505, can I dirty flash crDroid over a vanilla LineageOS as if it were an update (so I don't need to re-configure/re-install everything), or must I do a full wipe and a clean install?

I tried to install crDroid 12.1 on my beyond0lte (S10e) after flashing stock firmware G970FXXSGHVK1/G970FOXMGHVJ5/G970FXXUGHVJ1 (downloaded by Frija), then TWRP 3.7.0.0 patched with Magisk 25.0. I got into TWRP fine, installed the crDroid ZIP, wiped cache/Dalvik cache, rebooted. Booted into TWRP one more time by holding Vol Up + Bixby + Power - that was fine. Then tried to reboot normally into the OS. It's now stuck at the boot logo.

> This phone is not running Samsung's official software. (blah blah blah)
> Samsung Galaxy S10e

I left it like that for a good half hour just in case - it didn't change.

The only thing I can do now is reboot by holding Vol Down + Power. I cannot get into recovery mode nor download mode, no matter how many times I try the key combinations (Vol Up/Down + Bixby + Power) - it just goes back to that screen. I was able to do both before installing the crDroid 12 ZIP.

Is there anything I can do to recover this phone? Any help appreciated!

When phone is turned off (or exactly at the moment the phone is rebooting, if the phone is continuously rebooting) do that :

Doing Volume down + BixBy Button + plug USB-C cable connected to a simple electric supply

NB : I well said electrical supply, don't connect your phone to a computer. it's not the same.

Keep the buttons pressed till you reach the Download mode. From there you can reflash your phone.

I remind that CrDroid 8.7 can be installed only with this recovery :

Thanks, I tried this, but did not succeed into getting into Download mode. The phone is on, but not continuously rebooting - it only reboots if I hold down Vol Down + Power. If I press Vol Down + Bixby + plug in a USB-C cable as it reboots it shows a lightning bolt inside a circle instead (charging indicator?) and remains like that. I think it's power off then. If I unplug and re-plug the USB-C cable (while still holding down Vol Down + Bixby) it goes back to the Samsung logo screen.

Can anybody help me? I went into bootloop with this rom and lost access to my files in internal memory. Is there any way to not lose these files?
Same thing happened to me, the only way to fix it is to fix the boot loop, either by removing your faulty Magisk module or dirty flashing. I ended up losing all my data and moved to the new A13 crdroid which is sooo much better imo, and doesn't have encryption so this won't happen again. Sorry bud

OK, so I took my phone to some repair shops and the third shop I tried managed to recover it somehow and install the stock OS on it. (They wouldn't tell me how - trade secret! ;)).

G970FXXUGHVJ1 is the firmware version I have on it now (OneUI version 4.1). Is it safe to attempt to install crDroid 8.7 with that (with the recovery you linked above)?

Also, after installing crDroid, is it OK to install TWRP and backup/restore the OS with it? (The LOS recovery seems to have no backup/restore options.) If it is OK, will I lose root by doing that? Should I to patch TWRP with Magisk?

Well, I tried it - didn't work. Install the linked LOS recovery fine, wiped everything. When installing crDroidAndroid-12.1-20220717-beyond0lte-v8.7.zip it says:

Code:
Supported API: 3
Finding upidate package...
Verifying update package...
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
Update package verification took 22.4 s (result 1).
E: Signature verification failed
E: error: 21

Then prompts with

> Signature verification failed
> Install anyway

Sure, might as well - the old system is already gone. :) Similar error when installing the Magisk ZIP.

Then it just freezes on boot like before, except now I am able to get into recovery. (I have to press the recovery key combo with the USB cable connected to a computer - this is apparently a change in a new OneUI version, so maybe if I had just known that before I wouldn't have needed to pay a repair shop.)

Tried installing the latest LOS 19 instead (lineage-19.1-20221201-nightly-beyond0lte-signed.zip with the matching recovery) and while that doesn't give any signature errors it still fails to boot - frozen on the "This phone is not running Samsung's official ..." screen, as before. :( I have no idea what's wrong.

The firmware turned out to be the problem. After I downgraded to G970FXXSGHVI4 I was able to install and boot this ROM!

> Also, after installing crDroid, is it OK to install TWRP and backup/restore the OS with it?

Tried this, and the answer seems to be no: the OS then freezes on boot, on the crDroid eye logo changing colors (before the colored letters "CRDROID" appear). This kept happening even after restoring the recovery used to install this ROM, so I had to reinstall. No TWRP backups, then. :(

Thanks for this great ROM!!! Bluetooth call is not working, but everything else is perfect until now
I'll apply fix for BT calling next update :)

I wonder if the low sound problem in stock rom has been fixed in this software? I can barely hear the other person's voice during a call.

I am on Lineage 18.1 with unlocked bootloader and want to try out this ROM. I think I am familiar on how to install this ROM but with one question: At what step in the install process do I need to flash a up to date firmware (my current firmware is 2 years old)?

    1) Before flashing Lineage Recovery (running TWRP right now)?
    2) After flashing Lineage Recovery?
    3) Or after I installed Lineage Recovery and did a factory reset?
In the instructions sections, it clearly says to update to the OneUI 4 before flashing this rom. After that you have to flash the lineage recovery & then flash this rom. 😊
