1. Download the preparation ZIP and extract it;
2. Put your cell in fastboot mode;
3. If you are on Windows click on flash.bat, and on linux type in terminal ". flash.sh" (MUST have FASTBOOT installed);
4. Download the last ROM Release;
5. Push the file to your cell and reboot your cell in TWRP;
6. Do an factory reset (If you are updating, just do an cache wipe);
7. Flash the downloaded ROM (Don't flash GAPPS, these are included in the package);
8. Reboot your cell (First boot can take up to 10 minutes).

• On setup wizard you may have ONE force close;
• Viper4Audio must be on Compatibility Mode;
• If you are an Android Beta Tester you must disable Google Play Services notifications.

How to ROOT

1. Download the lastest Magisk for unrooted phones HERE;
   
2. Download the lastest PHH's superuser HERE;
   
3. Push these two files to your cell;
   
4. Reboot on TWRP and flash Magisk;
   
5. AFTER flash magisk flash PHH's superuser;
   
6. Reboot your cell;
   
7. Go to Play Store and install PHH's superuser app;
   
8. Be happy.

Haven't tested standard gapps, will do more tests and fixes tomorrow... Actually I recommend to download these : http://en.miui.com/thread-356609-1-1.html and don't update Google Play Services...

Found a apk on miui site which install the services im gonna try that instead. The gapps FC with google play services all the time

Completed factory reset
Flashed ROM, GApps and SuperSU and custom kernel all at once. After about 20 minutes, still stuck at Google screen and phone is warm, so Im not sure what its doing but was taking way too long.
Rebooted, wiped again
Flashed ROM, GApps and SuperSU together. Rebooted and after 15 minutes, its stuck at google screen and phone is warm. Taking way too long.

Rebooted and just flashed ROM and SuperSU as instructed in OP, to see if that worked. It behaved differently this time, its not just sitting at Google screen, Its heating up and rebooting about every minute or so for about 15 minutes and appears to have stopped rebooting repeatedly. Now its sitting at Google screen. Will give it another 15 minutes to see if it completes this time.

I noticed an error ggiven during the process, but it doesnt stop it. It eventually completed.
Mount: failed to mount /dev/block/platform/soc.0/9824900.sdhci/by-name/userdata at /data: Device or resource is busy.

Google Logo Hang Fix

I had this same issue. Here's what you have to do. First make sure you have a clean install of 6.0.1 (latest) then factory reset like it says in the op. Then (without booting into system) flash the zip. It will give the errors but they don't affect anything. After that flash SuperSU (I used 2.78). Now boot. Everything should work this time it will reboot once then show the MI logo. Also, like the OP said, GApps are verrrrry glitchy. I recommend multirom if this is your daily driver. I actually would not recommend GApps the MIUI ones destroy everything and make for a very unpleasant experience.

Will try! Interesting to taste the MIUI experience to determine if I'd survive with a non stock Google phone in the future (not buying expensive pixel but maybe Xiaomi mi5s)

Not booting, hangs on Miui boot animation.

This is what I did before flash:
1. Flashed stock Android 6.0 from Google (mda89e)
2. Rebooted
3. Flashed TWRP
4. Rebooted
5. Flashed Miui 8
6. Flashed SuperSu
7. Reboot (hanings almost 30 minutes on Miui boot animation, loading bar on the bottom is runnng)

Did I miss something?
