This is compiled off Android 4.3 - C6833

Dogg ROM is intended for those that want a prerooted Sony ROM that has a few tweaks added for better battery life and smoother UI and better 3G / 4G speed. Special Thanks to:
@iBuzman: Primary tester and excellent guy!

For unLocked bootloaders (modified kernel)
-- It MAY work on locked bootloaders, but you will more than likely have to flash a stock kernel after flashing this ROM
-- Use flash tool to do that.

Method:
MAKE A BACKUP FIRST!!!

You must follow the instructions!!

a - Download ROM
b - Download SuperSU.zip

c - Download 1.132 - kernel.rar
d - Download duel recovery for Z Ultra
(See Post #2)

1 - Copy ROM and superSU to your phone (Internal / External SD)

2 - Reboot your phone into Recovery Mode

3 - Install zip from sd card.

4 - Choose the ROM's .zip file (and wait 2 minutes for installation to complete)

5 - Flash superSU.zip

6 - Power off device.

7 - Use flashtool [FLASHMODE] to flash "1.132 - kernel.rar" (FTF file including baseband, kernel, partition, loader, images)

8 - Use flashtool [FASTBOOT] "Select kernel to flash" to flash Duel recovery for Z Ultra

9 - Reboot - DONE!

YOU NOW HAVE THE LATEST ROM WITH DOGG TWEAKS, ROOT AND RECOVERY....

There seems to be an issue bricking your device if not using the latest version of flashtool. Be sure to use the latest one.
To be safe, use flash tool to flash Sony FTF , then custom kernel with recover, then flash this rom.​

Dogg ROM issues:

There seems to be an issue with taking screen shots. Sometimes the systemUI.apk will force close.
- No immediate solution, but sleeping your device, then unlocking it again is a temp fix

Updating album and walkman:
- May cause force closes . Don't update to latest version

Not booting

Be sure that if you are coming from a CM based ROM that you do a full wipe.
If the ROM still wont boot then power off your device. (may need to hold down the red reset button) then flash this kernel using 'Flashtool'

Would love to try this, but i do not have Recovery, and i just got my ZU up and running again after making an epic fail today, which resulted into bootloops I hope someone wanto to test it though!

Once the ROM is released then all you would need to do to make the ROM deodexed is:

-Wipe the Dalvik Cache.
-Run this script in CWM.

Would take a few minutes, but would convert all the odex files to “deodex-files” in the folders /system/app and /system/framework.

it looks like it just replaces the app and framework directories with deodexed files, rather than actually deodexing the directories? would this be good to do, since it's taken from another device?

That's why I did not try. It's from Z, not ZU.

The Z1 and ZU are identical units. Same internals so what ever works for the Z1 works for the ZU. The script will enable you to use themes and modify your ROM like users want to do.

On another note: ROM has been tested and works. But I need to fix up a few scripts.
