Try AEX 5.0, it is stable build now.

Unfortunately not yet stable, several people in the topic are complaining about fingerprint, microphone and others and the rom is in alpha state, well complicated to be a rom for daily use. ViperOs has been discontinued today, unofficial Aex, also seen. In my opinion, the only rom that will continue to be updated and stable for now is Jaguar.

Was i talking to you? Good back to school kid.

So sorry..

I'm just sharing my thoughts. People don't try roms because these are discontinued. If a rom is stable enough why not using it? It makes no sense.

This I disagree because a discontinued ROM has security holes. Security patches are essential but most people ignore this. But everyone thinks differently.

Use ROM you prefer dude.

Dev, is it of interest to you to take the development of ViperOs Zuk Z2? The dev of the rom discontinued and I'm sure if it was your hand it would do a great job.

Actually it's pretty simple. The most important issue of using outdated roms are: security holes. For exemple: krack attack. I dunno, but lineage is probably exposed since it was discontinued before the patch. But if you're ok with it even knowing the risk of having some personal data stolen such passwords etc., it's your call.

This topic was very busy, now there are almost no posts. In this transition to oreo, almost all nougat roms were discontinued. It's a shame because stable Oreo is still going to take a while.

Well, if you would have checked changelog, you would see that I discontinued ROM long ago and I update only kernel. However kernel updated are not discontinued, I'll post one more in a few days, I want it to be as stable as possible.

    So we had a Kernel with EAS support, and now we have a AEX 4.5 AEX 4.6 build with it:)

    What is EAS? Well, better read this article.

    Code:

    * Return of Jedi, Empire striking back. YOU are choosing to make these modifications,
    * and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device,
    * [B]I will laugh at you.[/B]
    * BOOM goes the Dynamite
    */

    KERNEL FEATURES:
    • EAS support.
    • Additional I/O scheduler(Fiops(by default), noop, Maple, Tripndroid.
    • Schedutil CPU governor. DON'T CHANGE IT
    • Based on AEX for Z2 by @davidevinavil and commits from EAS-project.
    ROM FEATURES:
    • Full EAS support.
    • Thousands of tweaks for smooth and fast UX.
    Contributors: @Renderbroken, @DD3boh, @davidevinavil, @varotone, EAS-project team and entire Z2 Plus development team.
    Installing procedure.

    Code:
    -Download the ROM and GApps of your choice
    -Backup each and every partition from TWRP Recovery
    -Make a full wipe (system, data, cache, dalvik)
    -Flash AEX Package
    -Install GAPPS package
    -Wipe cache!
    -And at last Reboot!
    [First boot will take few minutes! Have patience]
    Clean Flash is always recommended!

    Time for FAQ
    1. Can it be installed over official AEX?
    It should be possible. Clean flash is always top 1 choise for you, but you may give it a try. Remember to wipe caches.
    2. Can I install custom kernels?
    No one prevents you from flashing it, and it will work(most likely), but you will lose EAS support and why not use official ones with custom kernel,
    huh?

    3. Whats the difference between Official and this one AEXs?
    F1xy kernel(not "Legendary battery life")(useless placebo patches and "magical" optimizations)(obviously more, check my GitHub).
    Full EAS support(latest powerhal from Pixel, powered by Google and kernel support included)
    Various smoothness tweaks + attempt to make LTE and 3G connection more stable.
    4. Why is CPU underclocked to 1.4/1.7 GHz?
    Just read this.

    Alright, I decided to stick with AEX for EAS update. It is the most updated ROM for Z2 and everything is ready for building. So... Give me a few days and everything will be ready)

    Hello guys !
    Sorry for disturbing but I just need to let you know that a "small" cleaning has been performed in order to redirect this development thread to its normal course before the floods will cause more damages.

    Personal vendetta is definitely unwelcome , I bet that the large majority of us wants to see useful posts like, " I have found this problem , here`s my log / evidence", "I`ve found a workaround, this is how to" and some more similar and not drama and crossfire between users.

    We have the Forum rules , whenever one needs to post and doesn`t know how, must read them or simply ping a moderator, unpleasant posts also must be reported and personal issues taken to pm and if not solved, reported.
    That being said guys, happy flashing and less bashing
    Thanks for understanding
