after instaling TWRP, IT IS WISE to take a backup to your EFS and modem, just in case.logosA, whether correctly I understand, that after installing TWRP-3.1.1-1 as recovery phone disconnected from the personal computer, runs EFS and modem backups, and then is again connected to the personal computer? No one will work on Oreo based ROMs, until we get new updated kernel.hey guys, does anybody know whether we might see android 8 AICP on the note 2 some day, afaik it was not excluded but there was no one actively working on it either last time i checked. Any news on this one?
Thanks, logosA, for your explanation. But in your instruction there is one more mystical moment. I mean juggling by TWRP versions. You take TWRP-3.0.2-0, intended specially for Android 4.4.2 KiteKat, and do hard reset phone, including section /data formatting then phone loses ability to be loaded in operation system. So, I understand it. Then we will assume, that I have already filled in custom ROM, ROOT and GAPPS on ExtSdcard. Unless I cannot flash them in TWRP-3.0.2-0? Whence undertakes notorious TWRP-3.1.1-0?? Is it necessary for reception of updatings OS or for custom ROM, ROOT and GAPPS flashing?after instaling TWRP, IT IS WISE to take a backup to your EFS and modem, just in case.
I said connect phone to pc, in order to tranfer the files that are needed for flashing, through the TWRP recovery. Yes the flashing is happening with the TWRP. Only the stock rom have to be flash from the pc, using odin. Custom roms can be flashed from the twrp recovery. Also you dont have to disconnect your phone from pc, you can leave it connected the whole time.
But , if you have an external sdcard, you can tranfer there the files (rom, gapps root) and flash them using recovery, from the external sdcard, without need to connect to pc.
until MM roms (android 6.1) TWRP 3.02 was enough and best way to flash any custom rom going back until KIT KAT. That mean rom with android 4.4, 5 , 5.01 , 6.01.Thanks, logosA, for your explanation. Yes, logosA, could I make hard reset phone with Android 4.4.2 with expanded wiping, including wiping /system section and formatting /data section by means of TWRP-3.0.2-0, and right after it to flash file TWRP-3.1.1-1.img, filled in on ExtSdcard? And after that to continue further runnig already in it recovery? Is it possible enter into recovery without running OS (Volume-Up+HOME+POWER) ?until MM roms (android 6.1) TWRP 3.02 was enough and best way to flash any custom rom going back until KIT KAT. That mean rom with android 4.4, 5 , 5.01 , 6.01.
After the Android 7.1 some Roms , in order to be flash it is adviced best TWRP 3.1.1-1to be used. Thats because, that recovery has better compatibility with Nougat Roms.
You can always try and possibly flash the Nougat Rom and Gapps, using TWRP 3.02. A lot of user have done it with success. But somewhere in the envolment of Nougat Roms we realized that 3.02 ususally flashes them, but sometimes fails. On the other hand TWRP 3.1.1-1, always success to complete the task.
Why then, we dont flash TWRP 3.1.1-1 with odin, after finishing with the stock rom?
TWRP can be flashed with odin using our pc, only if it is in xxxx.tar format.
Unfortunatelly there is no TWRP 3.1.1-1 in tar format, but only in xxx.img format, which can only be used, if TWRP is already installed in our phone and we use img to just update it (if you are not familiar how, just tell us to share).

Thanks, logosA, I have understood. In the former instruction you described hard reset process with reference to TWRP-3.0.2-0. Therefore it is so much questionsHere, have a look
Has made transition from stock ROM to AICP-12.1. Transition has passed smoothly. Initial check has shown, that calls and sms pass. Phone connects to internet through an mobile operator. But phone can not be connected to home WiFi-router WL-500gP, FW v.1.9.2.7-rtn-r5066, operating in DHCP-mode. Phone sees all list of accessible networks, including my own. After input of the password the router status varies on “saved”, but not “connected”. For check the Network was deleted and the router was rebooted with no results.Yes, its possible.
here is how:

Is it possible that you have any back cover, other than its original installed in yout phone?I will be grateful for any good advice
Hi, Gio! This is a cover of “the book” type. The cover represents the back part completely identical factory back part, which is replaced, + face plastic plate closing the screen. I think it is a factory part because has firm inscriptions. It was put in day of purchase in 2013. Problems with connection to a home router (and to any others) never was. Phone damages also was not. From the moment of purchase on phone there was only stock ROM 4.4.2 KitKat, upgraded in 2017Is it possible that you have any back cover, other than its original installed in yout phone?
Did you had any reception problem in the past in some other, or even stock rom?
Are sure your antena(which is plased under the back cover) is not some how damaged or covered?
Take a look to these things and after that, lets go some deeper in the seaking of other probrems
I've seen this before when router was set to AC standart only, when it was set to G-N the connection established just fine (Im not sure if N actually work, link speen 54Mb\s only).Has made transition from stock ROM to AICP-12.1. Transition has passed smoothly. Initial check has shown, that calls and sms pass. Phone connects to internet through an mobile operator. did you ever updated the stock rom before moving to Custom roms? This old router has Wi-Fi: 802.11g standard only, without WPS
I have established Phone INFO*Samsung*. How to make a screenshot? The buttons combination Home+Power, touch pen, hand-swipe and shaking does not work.did you ever updated the stock rom before moving to Custom roms?
if you still have your old KIT-KAT rom's modem and BL, that could be something that could interfear with the latest Nougat roms and their settings.
Are you familiar on how to update your phone's BL(bootloader) and modem, using odin, without flashing the whole stock rom in order to do that?
Its possible that updating these 2 elements, you will solve your wifi issue.
