Rio camera patch

This is camera from myphone rio stock rom-

This should fix occasional can't connect to camera bug

Flash only if you have camera problems

It seems front camera is not working in epic 2.0.

Back camera is working OK.

When I select front camera, the screen just freezes.

The phone does not hang, but thereafter camera will not work until you reboot.

Should I flash the camera fix file?

I went ahead and flashed the camfix zip and now my front camera is greyed out [emoji17]

Take stock camera from here, first go to settings --> apps -- > gallery --> clear data
then flash this, and front camera will work now :good:

Some users on FB say V1.2 was the best, I'm restarting from V1.2, just copy all your apps from /data/app to sdcard, I flash new ROM everyday

Can you please provide the music player that was in epic 1.2.
BTW EPIC is an awesome rom.And thank you for you're hard work.
Also the camera in epic 2.1 seems a bit slow and when taking a picture sometimes it does not register a click(maybe it's my imagination,so can somebody else check that out).

Camera is fixed in V2.1 and i will upload old music app in this post

The mmx stock contacts app is severely crippled.

1.
You cannot set /un-set favourite (starred) contacts. In fact the favourite contacts view is totally missing in mmx.

I had set favourite contacts in my old phone and now I could not 'Un - favourite' them from mmx (you have to go to your Gmail account from pc).

AOSP has a the favourite contacts view and ability to set favourites (these are automatically made favourites in your Gmail account, and will be carried over to your other devices)

In mmx while entering a new contact, there are no fields provided for the persons job title and organisation.

This has been omitted in mmx.

Mmx will only show these fields if they have been entered on an earlier phone on from your Gmail account on pc.

This feature is very useful as you can search a person by his organisation.

In AOSP this feature is present

Therefore the AOSP contacts /dialer is more superior than the stock mmx apps.

no i like mmx stock apps (dialer , contact, messaging) ....its far better.... and for fav. I made a group... :silly:
infact he said that he is starting the project from 1.2 ...and he replaced AOSP contact nd dialer with stock... so it should be there in 2.1 ...

Well, favourites and having a group are 2 different things.

You don't need a group to mark contact favourites.

That is why Google supports Favourites as a separate feature, along with groups.

Also searching a contact by company name is very useful for professionals/business folk.

I had to ask for the AOSP contacts /dialer flashable zip, as I found the MMX apps pretty limited for my purpose.

Since our contacts are linked with our Google accounts, A good Android system should support all the features that Google supports, not just a part of it.

Aosp contacts are much better, it's smooth, stock isn't this much smooth, and also in stock mms app, scrolling is laggy, in aosp app, it's smooth, and I will give you stock boot.img :fingers-crossed:

Our device works best with slim and light software.

That's why the developer strips away the bulky skins etc so as to give us better functionality over cute looks.

If one wants everything stock (boot animation, contacts, dialer) , then maybe they don't need epic rom.

They Just need to keep (or reflash) their stock rom (root it if they like) and they will get everything stock.

In this rom, have you removed a language 'English (India)' ?

I'm using SwiftKey and the Indian rupee symbol is not showing up. It was present in my stock mmx rom, and maybe early epic roms.

SwiftKey support says to select English (India) as language to activate that symbol.

But I'm not seeing that language in the list. I think it was there before?

No, eng(IN) was only on stock ROM, this ROM was started from RIO V1.17 and RIO is from phillipines, so it doesn't have ENGLISH(IN)
