This here is my personal setup and thought i'd share. Usually i test extensively before releasing to public, but if you do find something detrimental to the usage of your device that is either Force Closing or simply not working, let me know and i will in turn inform whether that is something i will tend to.

WETA is made for Music geeks like me, its main focus is stability and Audio. It is Based off latest firmware currently, and will always be using the most up to date firmware base.

This ROM is built from stock system images, decompiled and modded by me.​

ViPER4Android 2.3.4.0 with Super quality audio driver or the new 2.5.0.5 with driver pre-installed (credit to @viper520 + @zhuhang)

Because this is based off of stock Samsung, gapps are included.


Installation, Please read very carefully. This rom is for Exynos devices only. Though I have made a separate app to apply mods for Snapdragon devices using SAMfail.

- Exynos devices -

BACKUP EFS!!! this rom will not do this for you. I myself have bricked an s8+ that didn't have a backup...
Backup DATA!!! just in case.

Wipe Data if you are coming from another rom or version base if you have crashes or other issues before reporting.
Format SDCard if coming from stock encrypted

OEM Jail, The dreaded 7 day oem lockout

With the discovery of rlc and the disabling off rmm lock. There have been far fewer instances of folks being thrown in oem jail. But still some are. Below is a method that may get you out of 7 day jail instantly. This hasn't been tested by me, as I've never had it happen to me.. but give it a try

1. Enter settings, turn off auto detect time
2. Change time to over 7 days ago. It seems like good practice to change it to a month earlier, to be sure.
3. Enter firmware update and turn off auto updates then manually check for update.
4. Reboot, and the OEM switch should be present.

Moving to the WETA OREO builds

You dont have to update bootloader or modem!

You should backup data and efs with TWRP to an external sdcard, you will not have access to internal sdcard via twrp after flashing oreo. Until TWRP is fixed. You can restore these backups only in Nougat!!!
You can backup all you want using titanium etc. Backup to external.

TWRP flashing process
1. Wipe data (after backing up)
2. Flash Rom
3. Boomshanka you are done, bootify.

Rolling back to WETA 5.2.1
1. Wipe data
2. Flash WETA nougat base
3. Flash WETAmod installer for that version
4. Restore twrp backup from external

Hello world...

Version 1.0, there may be a few niggles though overall should be perfectly stable.
My Rom control app works differently to others. Make sure to click the apply tabs.
Rom Control is installed as a User data app, and all of its patching files are stored in data also. This is to aid magisk hiding features.
The firmware is mildly debloated, though i am opting to keep a lot of the stock samsung features in place. Except Bixby, he can die.
Dolby Atmos will be on its way next update.
Hybrid rom means.. The only deodexed files are the ones needing modification, this rom is largely odexed for smoothness and boot time speed.

WETA for Snapdragon

I have added support kinda, for snapdragon devices. Rather than being a full rom, I've encapsulated all the modifications into a user app. Install the snapdragon wetamod app linked on the download webpage, make sure you have deodexed systemui and BusyBox installed. Go nuts.

Installed as well. I already had Arise installed, so the only thing I changed was the base audio effects you have here from the Xperia so I can see which I prefer. On enabling that, Arkymys was on a force close loop, which makes sense, so I removed that and all is good . The bixby button remapper is nice as well. Thanks! I can comment on the audio effects later, when I have time listen to music. I used your ROMs extensively on other phones, so it's nice to see you here as well!

Haha yeah, actually I'm really liking it! I care a lot about sound, and with Tidal, this sound base, and my v4a tweaks, I'm really loving the sonic experience . Clean and crisp without sound degradation. And definitely! Thanks for your work man :good:

It's not the rom as much as a version of rom control app that works.

U models are included, the app can be installed as a user app and make modifications to the snapdragon SAMfail rom directly. Without flashing a complete rom
