New build uploaded (lineage-16.0-20191020-UNOFFICIAL-yuga.zip), major changes since August:
  • Fast battery drain fixed (for 15.1 nightlies too)
  • SELinux denials resolved at 99% (You can make builds in enforced SELinux, but I would recommend continuing to build them in permissive). Current build in permissive SELinux.
  • Oktober security patches
  • Minor performance and stability improvements (for 15.1 nightlies too)
  • Added missing props for gps and Miracast.
  • Build status - Stable.
Addonsu is already included, you can enable root access in the developer settings :)

This is where my support for android 8-9 for Z/ZL/ZR/Tablet Z ends, this build will be the last. All the changes made in the sources are already available on github.com/LineageOS, if someone wants to continue supporting and get the official LineageOS 16.0 - write to PM, I will explain in detail what remains to be done in the sources. Also, if someone wants to try to build other roms for our devices based on android 8-9 from the available sources - try to choose CAF-based roms (for example, AOKP, LineageOS, Ressurection Remix, AICP, etc.), then with 95% chance you will build and run the rom. Our sources are based on CAF, and for the build of roms based on AOSP, additional fixes are required, plus there will be problems with sound anyway.

I also want to note that I made a most part of the changes made in 16.0 to the official 15.1 nightlies, which should significantly improve their stability and performance :)

Thanks you for this great rom
I have installed last version (2019-10-20) for a few days
The rom is amazing, it brought some features like ambient display, dark mode, stylish UI with pie navigation bar to a smartphone from 7 years ago
I installed magisk 20 with ED Xposed framework and gravity box P module working which is unbelievable
But, to be honest it is very laggy. And it's not rom's fault. It’s because of the old chipset (S4 pro) which is very weak compared with new smartphones
The battery life in sleep mode is very good. But while using, it drains fast like Oreo. Again because of device’s weakness in both CPU and GPU and 2300 mah battery
Anyway. This rom gave me very nice feeling. And it’s stable, without any bugs yet.
For those people who search for a good rom in both performance and battery, I suggest last build of LOS 14.1 (2018-12-06). Still it’s the best rom for Z even better than stock rom

Not intended to blame the dev.
I know it is a hard work to get a firmware running with closed source stock firmware parts.

But the nexus 4 here runs fast and has no bad drain on lineageOS 16
It has the same chipset.

The nexus 7 2013 WiFi has also the same chipset, is a bit laggy and not drainy.

But that's the curse with closed stock ROM blobs. You may have luck as developer or you need to work hard to workaround problems :S

Maybe coincidence but after downgrading to 15.1 i don't have the missing/problematic touch on the bottom navbar area of the screen anymore.
(It didn't move with rotation, just the bottom of the device was always dead or bad to touch)

Since i got the same problems in twrp, and if it isn't coincidence now, the kernel has a bad touch bug.
(Since the recovery is in the FOTA kernel partition and shares the same kernel with the system)

Edit:
Sometimes I touch and it randomly touch several screen points in a row.
But until now it seems to be better than in 16.0.

Edit0:
Now switched back to lineageOS 14.1 to See if the touch problems finally disappear.

Edit1:
Happens in 14.1 too
Must be Hardware damage

Just want to thank the developer of this rom first of all. Getting Pie on this old thing is incredible.

Now just a general question for everyone; is there any way to undervolt while on this ROM? will it boot with other kernels? Or just any other ways to boost performance and save battery?

Currently I turned off 3/4 of the CPU cores. Also dropped the resolution to 720p.

Update interval

Hello everybody,

I was wondering how often this ROM is updated (weekly, monthly,...)? I am planning to switch to this ROM as 15.1 doesn't seem to be maintainded...Thanks for your reply and

edit: I just found a post saying that the ROM will support OTA-updates as soon as its status changes to stable. Can you confirm that OTA-updates are already available?

I'd rather just get the updates through OTA than having to reflash each incremental update, and this worked fine on LineageOS 14. What about Treble Project, is it included now on LineageOS 16 for the Xperia Z? Because with Treble, it should work OTA updating to LineageOS 17 and so on.
Of course not. It's not official, yet.
When it becomes official, OTA update should be available.

Uh, treble? Having an official build is more than enough for this old device.

Btw, @sigma9988 how about sensors? Like proximity?"
