One question: anybody tried using art with this ROM? I heard its a real ***** to turn off if things go poorly so was hesitant to try but its so interesting I am tempted maybe its more of the version of gapps than the ROM that determines this? Its all new to me.

I read an article on it earlier that said DON'T DO IT NOW on any AOSP ROM because there is a serious problem with ART and gapps right now.

Aye.. well i got impatient and tried it anyway. Would not recommend to anyone unless you just really want to see it.

There is definitely some unhappiness in gapps. However, aside from being able to determine your location, everything actually seems to work. I expected much worse. The biggest problem is near constant popups telling you that com google something.gapps has died. I managed to minimize that somewhat but still happens a lot. Hard to tell what if anything is faster with all that going on, but i like to think there is improvement

Will be interesting to see when the bugs are sorted.

There was someone in another thread who has odexed gapps, which are what you'd need. I don't remember which thread though. Could either be in the n7 section or Galaxy nexus. Sorry

Sorry to get offtopic, thought I'd mention though that I tried wiping, flashing this ROM but not any gapps package and it works beautifully with ART. Of course you have no Google stuff, but gods is it fast
Things just... Fly. Its ridiculous. Not a single fc yet, though its only been maybe 30 minutes and my app selection is limited to the apks I've "found" so haven't tried everything. I am excited to see how things will be once the gapps problems are fixed.

I was crawling through a Paranoid Android 4.4 thread, and finally found the Odexed gapps that will work with ART -

This is update puts gapps into the rom, which make it pretty much a mock up of the stock rom except for the additions and changes I made, any way this does contain gapps but I chose not to include face unlock and I also used AOSP versions of Gallery2 and Camera2, which do not contain some google features.
