Nah bro no worries. I need to learn how to do all of this on my own so I can help other people. I just need to be pointed in the right direction to where the status bar icons are in systemui.apk. I'm going to put the file on my laptop obviously and play with it in Notepad or something. Thanks dude

Res/xxhdmi
And notepad? No. Download Jzip. :)

I'd also google apktool and how to decompile and edit and recompile the .apk.
Many great tutorials

Version 7.4

Running version 7.4, it is running great. Thank you Andy for building in the APM for recovery. I have decided not to use the Lyapota MOD Pack to see how running "Clean" works, and I have been using the "Dragon-Fi_Audio_ZeroInfinity_v24.1" Sound Mod. No issues on my end. MMS works as it should and no Data issues. Your work is amazing as it was for the Galaxy S3!

I am sorry my friend, but there is nothing I can do.

I wish I could figure it out :-/

May I ask why you don't want the notifications?
Isn't that the point of having the app or do you get so many that it just gets so annoying?
(I ask because I am interested in possibly trying out the Facebook app)

Not a ROM issue..
This has been discussed multiple times, u can prob find the info..
But to answer, go to data/app and remove the multiple folders for apps(you should see like xxx.apk-1, -2, -3 etc), prob will be all 15 apps.. Or remove them completely and redownload them one at a time and make sure there is only one folder per application) - see my attachment

What came back??

Sysyemui.apk

-------

For those having issues like themes please do a clean flash. I'll check into the new sense home.
But unfortunately things without a logcat and its working for most its very very hard to diagnose. :-/

Andy, where is the exact location of data/app? The data/app folder I found is empty. I'm trying to get rid of the annoying "Android upgrading" when I flash some mods, or flash a kernel. It takes like 15 minutes to reboot because it goes through 187 apps.

What is the slow boot time attributed to? I searched the thread and didn't really find much discussion on it.

I've found that if I wipe the dalvik cache that it will boot to the "upgrading apps" dialog rather quickly. If I don't wipe the dalvik cache then it sits at the end of the boot animation for a very long time.

I assumed that I caused this issue myself by restoring some system data using TiBu that the ROM didn't like...

Switched over to this rom for now, so far no issues.

Not weird at all IMO - clean flash solves all.
Glad its working my dude

... Data/app is in.. Data/app? (See attachments)
also if it's upgrading ALL apps... that means 1 of 2 things..
you
1) wiped cache
2) flashed a MOD with a .jar

-If you think it's bad for you imagine for us Developers trying to test... It's HELL!

Its Sense 7... Trust me WE ALL hate it lol. You did nothing wrong.

Anytime u wipe cache or flash a .jar it'll do the android is upgrading apps..
I also suggest you wipe the dalvik cache after flashing a MOD you know is going to do the android is upgrading.

This really depends on the updater script and how the mod and kernel maker do it.
It's a pia I admit, but it's really in your best interest that the caches get cleaned after mod/kernel changes.
It keeps the developer from chasing the gremlins like a dirty Flash.

If I had a nickel for each person who had a problem on these forums who then comes back and says "oh a clean flash fixed it", I'd have a lot of nickels. (Not directed at you at all)

Now back to where you can find apps- you can look in data/app, data/data. sdcard/Android/data.

Great post my friend, 100% agree with everything. Buck has informed me however, no need to wipe after kernel.

Is there something built into sense 7 that intentionally slows down charging when it detects an unauthorized charger? My normal charging cable with the standard sense charger charges within the regular 4 or so hours but switching to a longer USB cable makes it take about 14 hours, while it's the same 4 hours on gpe and my external charger takes about 21 hours, while again 4 on gpe. This is making sense 7 unusable for me, custom kernel makes no difference.

OK there's a lot of info there. So if I'm reading this right, every other ROM but Sense 7 Roms seem to charge in ~ 4 hours even with the longer USB cables.
But as soon as you install a Sense 7 based ROM, you get these long charging time.

So there is nothing I know of and have used Samsung, Moto, and HTC cables with no troubles.

2 questions- how long are the longer cables and, are u using the original HTC charging block?

I don't think it's the cable, it's the rom . Someone else in this thread was mentioning slowed charge even when plugged in through outlet /block.

Thanks for the responses, I feel like I got off on the wrong foot, I love the ROM, it runs great and I appreciate what you both have done for this community. I threw a lot out there but when using a Motorola USB cable that is the standard size I don't get the unsupported charging pop up and get impressive charging times (standard HTC charging block) but when using a slightly longer lg USB cable, no more than 2.5-3ft, it gives me an unsupported charger pop up and charges significantly slower, in fact loses power under average usage. On gpe both charge perfectly fine, so I naturally suspected sense 7. I'll order a few other longer USB cables and check their results but will until then use the shorter Motorola cable. Sorry again for the confusion and ungrateful attitude, I did not intend for it at all.

Thanks guys. I was looking for that folder with ES File Explorer, and couldn't see all the apps. I switched to Root Explorer, and then I could see all of them. I don't have any duplicate apps though, and I thought that was the reason why it does the " Android Upgrading" during reboots? Also Andy, I flashed Buck's kernel that you posted a page or two back, but I'm not sure it flashed right. What is the name of the kernel when I go in the "About" settings?

That is an awful lot of apps for Android upgrading. Do you have that many user apps installed? It almost sounds like the updater scripts for the mods that you are flashing, etc., are wiping cache and dalvik cache. If this is the case, then there is no way around that, as it will upgrade the apps after those are wiped regardless.

If you want the apps that I removed please download this system.zip and you will find the applications.
Then follow this thread here that I created a while back that gives you an empty-flashable.zip Template and explains how to take those apps from the above said system.zip and add them into the empy-template.zip to make your very own .zip to flash the missing apps that you'd like.
    Sprint firmware test from aer0zer0

    v2.0.1
Based on System Dump 4.16.401.10 HTC M8 Developer Edition
Kept this very clean, fixed all bugs, and then edited the MOD pack.
Please install ROM, set up, then reboot back and install the MOD Pack, or set up after installing MOD Pack, but you must have that reboot after the ROM and before the MOD Pack installation.

    To-Do:
    v7.6
    Please Let Me Know.

    Bugs/Issues:
    HTC Sync
MultiROM - doesn't work out of the box on v7.5 - the build.prop needs a simple change from M9 to the M8 - Please flash this in recovery to fix this.
Onscreen buttons on Snapchat.apk - Could be the result of either 2 things from the MOD Pack, so if the .apk is more important than these MODs please keep this in mind, #1 the Color Nav Bar and #2 the Smaller Nav Bar MODs.
Keyboard sometimes does not pop up for some users. Lock/unlock screen to fix.
To set up the Voice Mail Password, some only need to set it up like this: *86,1234
while others need # sign before the pause like this: *86#,1234
    Please Let Me Know

    ---------------------

thanks to some great ppl who will get credit when time comes, the M9 VZW dump is now deodexed, so v7.5 I will start working on tmw.
Please don't ak for an ETA, or any updates/details or anything... please.

    It will come with time.

But rest assured, things are looking good.

now that the framework is deodexed I can use the full M9 framework. This should fix HTC Sync and Multi ROM issues, and a fresh M9 dump to work with.

    I am very excited.
