Add this line to your build.prop file:

persist.sys.use_dithering=1

You will be amazed! ;)

hmmm dont see much change... could that be cause i already had surface dithering enabled in CM settings?

I'm reading that many of you said that this is the best rom..do you suggest to switch to this rom from cm6? Is this rom seriously better than other 2.2?

Sent from my X10i using XDA App

well... this is the base rom for almost all Froyo roms currently available for X10...

so its plain Android 2.2 experience... u can keep adding stuff to it as u like...

importantly... the "best rom" tag is more of personal preference... some ppl like stock android look & speed / some like Arc look & assocaited apps (gadgets) / some dont...

Awesome tip, I was wondering about how to do this.

You do realise you'll incur the wrath of Trip for divulging "his" techniques :D

Funny story...!
I brought this command to Trip's attention a while back! :D
The thread doesn't exist here anymore so I can't really provide proof,
but anyway, just thought I'd mention it.
Besides, it's really not a big deal, the information is available, all it takes is a Google Search! :D
Trip claims to have enhanced the display experience by tweaks integrated much deeper into the system.
(I hope this clarification will keep the delicious can of worms we all know about shut! :D :D :D)

I agree..just a simple code and no big deal... thank you MY IMMORTAL.....I have searched for days on this and being a phone noob I had no idea what to look for...I didn't even know it was a CM tweak (Plus I hate CM to me it is very buggy)..it made a huge and very big difference in this ROM. THANK YOU FOR THE HELP

Is there a custom kernel working on this ROM?

Ive tried a few but the system crashes and requires a reinstall.

Thanks

you don't have to provide any proof! cos I was the one asked this question posted with a screenshot of instinctiv music player asking about the gradient not blending well... :)

so ... which BB is that for ? and judging by the first post I can use any BB as long as its .54 or under ?

Also quickly, which baseband gives the best battery life with this ROM ? :'D

Also umm ... that thread does not have the bypassing files =/

There are two types of baseband categories 2.0.XX (.46 .49 and .52) and 2.1.XX (.54 .55 .58 .61 .65 .67) so all of the 2.1.XX basebands will work on it but the most advisable is .67 buddy
Hope this helps :D

Thanks doom making this work. I had to change roms though because too many random crashes and force closes especially with the market. I tried lots of different things including different market.zips but no joy.

Was not just market but random crashes with system files too. Wish it was more stable I love this rom

i have run this rom since the day it rolled out. i think it is great. i have however recently switched and for the hell of it was showing off to a buddy of mine.

as i was already on bb 67 i went ahead and flashed back to this rom from cobrato's miui 1.7.8 and got a wlod. once i flashed bb 54 it went away.

i am going back to the miui rom as we speak. i have run this one long enough and though i have enjoyed it..... Thanks Z:)

it is time to try something else out for awhile. rest assured though i will most likely come back to my beloved beta4.

this rom is amazing i have been using it the past several months and would just like to say thank you z. also there are a few bugs that are still quite prevalent such as wifi won't connect to school wifi since it needs username and password.camera fc when tap on screen to many times to focus.when something goes into landscape mode such as an app the screen doesn't work until you start the app while your phone is already horizontal. google voice is annoying to set up takes a while for phone not to fc it. very rarely screen just stops working and i have to pull down notification bar in order for it to register touch sensor. while talking sometimes tends to end call...maybe proximity sensor issue. all these are minor issues and don't at all effect stability...been using this rom for months and will continue to do so. all these issues can be circumvented using apps and some fixes...would be great however if none were needed..

check this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136940

i have modded the ramdisks inside z's kernels to make it FreeX10 compatible :)

and its working great!

I did try 14072011 and 15072011 with 67 baseband, and I can't get it to work.
It does show UMAD logo at boot, then regular zdzihu's logo, and... reboots.

I did clear dalvik, and cache. Actually when I came back to stock kernel, I've got a lot of crashes (that means at least some of dalvik has been created by your custom kernel?).

I think when you getting the umad logo, you have flashed the 2.1 kernel?

Misc: Currently I am abroad on a work project that takes 999% of my free time - I don't even have my PC/files with me. That means I won't be active here for another 4-6 weeks.

Please do not PM/mail me as I most likely won't be able to reply (sorry about that :() - I'll do my best to answer all of the PMs when I'm back for good!

Anyway, I just want to assure you that I'm still working on FreeX10 :)

    Cheers,

Hi Z there is a few data2sd zips knocking around for desire and stuff will they work on our roms ??
Sorry I got too excited with new sources and forgot to upload d2sd :) Here is it: FreeX10-data2sd.zip

Remember it's NOT supported NOR a part of this rom - just another toy to play

First boot will take ages, leave the phone for like 5-10 min. Default SD partition is 512Mb, should be enough for testing. To get rid of data2sd, simply delete/rename /mnt/sdcard/xrecovery/data.img and you will be back to your old (nand) data.

    Cheers,
    z

    Hi everybody,

First of all, I need to clarify that I don't have any plans to quit developing FreeX10 nor any other X10 related project :)
I already stated I will not make useless posts like "Hi guys, I had no progress but everything's fine" so please, be patient even if you don't hear from me for a couple of days. The camcorder problem gives me a major headache and I prefer to spend my time working on it rather that reading/posting here.

Second, I am begging you, do not send me irrelevant/ridiculous/crazy PMs - my box is totally flooded (100+ unread) and it will take the whole evening to go through them!

I'll do my best to answer all dev-related PMs - please bear in mind I am not even going to read PMs saying "HELP PLX", "BUG REPORT", "FIX CAMERA FAST!!11" and alikes - there are relevant topics for help, support and bug reporting!

    Cheers,
    z

Guys come on... why don't you read first this thread...

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=900175

    It clearly states:

"Similarly, don't make loads of "Thanks for your work here" posts in an active development thread. It's just as annoying to developers as asking when something will be ready. If a ROM is complete, then go ahead and thank the developer if you wish, but don't go into threads for devs only, and interrupt it to post "thanks". It's basically spamming, and is treated as such.
    "

Don't turn this thread as the previous one...
