Defrost runs and runs but my adblock /etc/host gets quite old.
Any alternative or does anybody know where to get an updated list?

Hi this Rom is outdated because richardtrip is working on another, 2.3 gingerbread Rom called gingervillain.. it is a lot better and has regular updates.. 2.2 froyo is old now.. :)

I'd be using 6.1 right now if it was'nt for that android sms bug in the earlier platforms....have a lovely themed version i keep tinkering with.....Keep uninstalling because i'm wary of the bug, even though it's never happened to me:confused:
6.1 is as fast as hell and EVERYTHING works well:)

Which bug is this, the one where you click an SMS and it opens a different one?

Hiya mate!

Yes i think so......The one which sends sms to the wrong recipient:confused:....I've also read that it's still not sorted in gingerbread.....Really like Defrost, especially with a vork kernel!

PS People have claimed this bug even occurs using Handcent etc:eek:
At first i thought it was apple fanbois spreading a vicious rumour but who knows:)

I've seen it when opening a thread has opened a different message. I'll be honest, I haven't seen that for a long time though. Whether its resolved or not I cannot comment.

The work around is to just look at the sender before sending. If you never had it though, I dont knwo whether you need to worry about it or not.

oh ok!

I'm searching for a Stock 2.2 Rom!
Because I wanna S-Off my Desire! And the Description says its better to flash before an Stock 2.2 Rom (like the Defrost) without Data2sd!

Can you recommend me another Rom?

Greetings Shaki

Richardtrip can you confirm if you are working on bringing 2.3 to defrost?

If CyanogenMod updates to gingerbread i'll update defrost. Currently we have an almost working aosp version but with a graphic bug. We have to wait for an updated proprietary lib from htc (nexus n1 ota maybe).

    Hi Richard.

Does this mean that we should expect an Gingerbread Defrost!? Or those of us that want to switch should go for Ginger Villain!?

    Thanks for your work.

    Merry Christmas everyone!

There will be a gingerbread defrost.

Power drain is still horrible. From all my tools, it still shows "SYSTEM" as most draining.

Now can anyone answer this, is it possible that one app I have open is using a "SYSTEM" component while sleeping so it shows up as "SYSTEM" in partial wake rather than the actual app? If this is the case, it'll be impossible to figure out.

I did manage to pull up what "SYSTEM" includes, can anyone tell me if they know any of these components could be the cause of my 4-5% drain while sleep?

    Account and Sync settings
    Android system
    Defrost settings
    Google backup Transport
    HTC Radio Info
    Network Location
    Settings
    Settings Storage
    VPN Services

    can you provide this info:
    adb shell
    dumpsys batteryinfo > /sdcard/batteryinfo.txt

and post the batteryinfo.txt? (as an attachment please :))
